I see a lot of beta packs out there that I'd like to try and was just wondering how people handle existing worlds when upgrading to the latest version.
With alpha packs, the warning's clear - anything and everything might change - but some packs seem to remain in beta forever.
So just for an example, DW20's latest pack. Suppose I started a world in version 1.0.2, what should I do to try and make sure I don't break anything when updating. Is it just a matter of making a backup, and then seeing what happens when you force update the pack?
Up until now I've just started a new world when a new version comes around but I'm getting a bit bored of starting out in the same pack every single time, and was just wondering what other people did.
EDIT: fixed the title so it's clear I need some advice
