Just wondering if anyone else is at all like I am in the fact sometimes i will spend hours/days trying to find that perfect seed. Anyone else do this at all or do you just play it where it lies?

I let the world generate the way it wants to, then search for my perfect camp for hours upon hours... Unless I spawn on a sandbar in the middle of deep ocean with no resources but sand :D

I have spent days. 3 straight afternoons after work, listening to music and resetting the world over and over again until I find one that is acceptable. And it was usually the third one I generated, but nothing ever beat it.

I am in this process for my new pack. I told my people we'll be up and running sometime between tonight and next weekend. I'm hoping by morning, but I gotta love it, man.

Yup i am same way I spend so many hours and days trying to find THE ONE seed to rule them all lol. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt just me lol. Also does anyone know which setting on the BOP setting changes the base Y level the world starts at like for instance with default setting base lvl is usually around y68. I want to get the base lvl to about y65.

Well it's comforting to know I'm not the only one who is incredibly picky about my world seeds, lol. I've spent anywhere from 5 minutes to days generating and deleting worlds.

I usually just use the first world and explore it find the perfect place. The spawn could be an ugly desert and you could leave the world and make a new one, but you could miss the most amazing mountainous biome or anything else for that matter.

Sorry, I forgot it was your thread.

mineatlas will still give you an idea of the map but since BoP overwrites biomes, there's probably too many false flags.

Yea true but same could be said for the opposite as well. What if the next world ya made Was THE ONE. All just luck of the draw either way ya go.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Play a skyblock- problem solved :p

I spend while running around the server until I find a nice spot.
Get dug in, explore for additional resources. Essentially play pack a few months and develop a substantial base/infrastructure- without a doubt well past the point of no return for moving house.
Only then will I inadvertently stumble across the absolute most perfect location to set up.

Its not just the terrain, its what you do with it. An area which is only 90% perfect (or 80, or 75%) is -in truth- good enough, even better if you can embrace the imperfections, and design it into your base.

Yea that is a very good point to. I always end up doin quite a bit of terraforming no matter where i end up. I just like have a few of the essentials close to me though. In truth though i really wish Highlands would update to 1.12+ i always preferred it over BOP. That being said though there are some biomes in BOP which i love and in fact is one of my center points that i must have and that is Mountain foothils/mountains.

What mod is that, that is making your trees generate so big and lush like that?

I'm guessing you're referring to Better Foliage. It's Better Foliage. It makes the foliage better :p

There's a bunch if mods working together for the generation. Some of that includes new actual trees generated in more realistic configurations if that's the part you meant.

yea not talking about the foliage itself. You have trees generated in there with big limbs ect. Some with know leaves some with huge limbs and leaves. Looks fantastic.

Ahh, yeah, that would be Natura, RTG and recurrent complex for some really spectacular trees not in that video but in this pack.
