My name is Fuubar and I picked up minecraft two years ago (bout when compasses were added). You may notice I didn't say I've played minecraft for two years, I burned myself on Alpha 1.2.5 (you can only build so many massive single player castles and cobblemechs in vanilla before you run out of stuff to do).
About three months ago I happened upon a direwolf20 video and was instantly sucked back in (coincidentally, in the second version 1.2.5). I was (am) shocked about how much content mods have added and how easy it has become to install more than one at once. I still remember the days when you had to check all the base classes a mod replaced and if two mods replaced the same one you had to decompile and merge the class (we had to walk miles for our elemental arrows, in the snow, uphill in both directions).
I decided to apply for the FTB map team on a whim (after convincing myself I wasn't good enough) and I'm still hopeful on that front.
