He starts up the launcher, and then he sees the moving hammer and constructing mods, but nothing happens. He has java and everything installed and it just does not load for him. We wait like 2-4 mins and its still stuck at the constructing mods with a moving hammer, so it isnt frozen. Were using twitch app, and he has his directory in his D: drive. Any clue why? Do we have to wait like 10 minutes or so? He could try making dedicated memory up to 4,000 but we tried that and same result. Are we just impatient, because mine loads up within 1-2 mins?

(He has newest version of Java and everything is updated)

I'm not familiar with that pack or what version it is but can suggest a few things to check. The details I'll ask about will usually get a much faster answer in the forums so you might want to include them in future posts:

These may seem like stupid questions but I have no idea if this is the first time Minecraft has been installed on this hardware. Also, this only applies to Modded Minecraft... As far as I know you can still run Vanilla on 32 bit systems.

1). Is it a 32 or 64 bit CPU? MC version 1.7.10 packs were about the last ones that could run on 32 bit hardware. Anything newer requires 64 bit CPUs due to limitations in the amount of memory that can be installed.

1a). Is the OS 64 bit? 64 bit CPUs can run 32 bit software but only with the same memory limitations (32 bit CPUs don't have commands to use more) so verify the OS.

1b). Are you running the 64 bit version of Java? This is for the same reasons as [1a]. 32 bit Java will run on a 64 bit CPU with a 64 bit OS but you have to check. The last time I manually loaded Java the default version installed was 32 bit unless you specified the 64 bit version.

2). How much total memory is in the system? counting everything? You need 1.5 to 2GB just to keep the OS happy. Then you need some for Java... 2 to 4 GB for packs running on Minecraft versions older than 1.7 and 4.5 to 6GB for newer versions. 32 bit CPUs can only access 4GB total memory, which is why you need 64 bit hardware and software for packs newer than 1.7.

Another thing to look into would be the Java version the pack was written for. There have been a few changes in Java in the 2 to 3 years I've been playing that caused problems with older packs... You may want an older version for the older packs, and there may be a suggested Java version listed in the pack description. In fact, current Minecraft was written using Java 1.0.8_25, and if you do not have Java installed locally this version will run automatically from Mojang if you use their launcher.
