You disgust me. How about you double check your findings before making accusations.

Both the group Github account and the server that builds the pack and serves the downloads are secure. Even if someone managed to place a virus in the pack, the build script would remake the pack within 60 minutes. On top of that, the language statics of Github don't show anything right now but that would change instantly if someone with trusted access pushed an executable file.

Hell, Norton 360 thought the FTB launcher was such a bad virus it would automatically quarantine and delete it until I told it to quick being such an arse...

Try again.

Is your Antivirus called Luke Filewalker?

An antivirus program named after a Star Wars character has to be taken seriously ... really .... not!!

I saw norton say Portal 2 was a trojan. Moral: norton sucks.
And what have we learned here today kids?
When you buy a computer and it says "come free with Norton installed" spit in the person who's trying to sell it to you's face, and run, RUN SO FAR AWAY!

Norton is the #1 WORST anti-virus software there is, with MacAfee coming in 2nd.
And the annoying thing about both of them? THEY ARE A PITA TO UNINSTALL!

But on topic with the OP

Get a proper firewall :p
Something like AVG. It's not the best. But it is better than Norton and MacAffee. It's free, and it's easy to uninstall. So there isn't really a downside... other than when it wants to update >_>

Avast? Avast is awesome. The only better antivirus in my knowledge then Avast is Malwarebytes.
And AVG gave me nothing but false positives.
I've not had it tell me of any... Well... I have had a few but they were downloads from places where you would expect such things ;)

^This raised to the power of infinity :D

Norton was the worst application I have ever had the displeasure of working with in 25+ years in IT. When we finally convinced management to switch to McAffee (then runnable from a single floppy in an emergency and the only other option) we had to completely rebuild 5000+ workstations floppy by floppy (no CDs back then) because you couldn't uninstall Norton safely. In my mind the lack of ability to safely uninstall was the epitome of virus behavior...

Anyone need MORE evidence than this for some reason? Norton is a rootkit.
