Without any armor, or enchantments.

How can I set up a system from getting around my town quickly?

Not using rails preferably as I don't want to have to set up a massive cart system.

I tried the MFR Roads but they dont seem to let me go any faster just slippery. And conveyor belts are much either :/

Well, teleporting with books, without maintenance costs.
Most would think that as being OP or cheating :p

MFR offers blocks that look kinda like roads but act as ice if you want a low end solution to just speed things up a bit while looking better than actual ice.

Right, you are probably on Ultimate, so I might miss a few off here, but:
Teleportation:
- Portals - Easy set up, will get very confusing very quickly
- IC2 Teleporters - Harder setup, but I think it looks cooler. Equally likely to confuse with multiple targets
- Mystcraft Linking Books - Needs a few irritating things (like a linkbook modifier). Each book would be clearly labeled.
- Mystcraft Portals - Look fancier, takes up more space for the same number of destinations
- CC Controlled Mystcraft Teleportation cubicles - Look awesome (add fire underneath for added harry potter-ness). Very complicated setup. Unlikely to get complicated.

Unattended movement:
- Rails
- Conveyers
- Faith Plates
- Some manner of Twilight Forest pickup bug transport system (not entirely sure how that'd work, but it would look awesome)

However, if you are just trying to get around a town, I would probably reccomend one of the flying devices. I quite like the Advanced Jetpack and MPS suits, myself, but that's just me.

EDIT: Oooh, oooh, you could make a large series of canals, and use boats. That would be awesome!

I tried them as I mentioned, and didn't like them. Was wondering if there are other solutions maybe?[DOUBLEPOST=1367775329][/DOUBLEPOST]
mystcraft books. paths made of ice
Ice and MFR roads are essentially the same. So no go. Also I am meaning inside one city so books wouldn't work unless there a way of getting a linkbook modifier? Last I knew it was only able to be cheated in.

We gave you no less than 8 different possibilities.

If you still don't like any of them for what you want, then why not convert your pathways to waterways and use a boat system?

It can go pretty fast if setup correctly.

I did not see bibles post till after my last. Also your last post was involving ice. Which is the same mechanics as the MFR road that I mentioned in the original post here. Hence not taking it to mind.

I also mentioned faith plates, but most of my post was rather useless due to my page not having reloaded when I told it to, so I did not see the other answers.

But your first post said that MFR roads (and by extension ice) didn't make you faster at all.
That is strange, because running on ice, and run jumping in it are vanilla ways to be much faster than normal walk or run.

If you don't run, the difference is low, and if you don't jump too, it's not too noticeable for small travels. I can understand not wanting to jump like a retard while only trying to get to an other house in town, but the speed is there.

Well sadly then it wont help its a 2x2 area so jumping isn't an option :/ but thanks

I would like to see more people using Railcraft and MFR conveyor belts.

Belts are problematic. if you put them over roads (or ice) they are fairly decnt. But the default confrig makes it grab entinties. This makes jumping off a but of an issue. I did some work with them on a build and ended up scraping them as they ended up being to annoying to work well. If you turn off the grab entinties in the configs they stop being overly useful in mob systems.
