Windows .exe Factorization Router Upgrade Not Working

I've got a sorting system that should put items into barrels using a router. I also have an overflow chest attached to this system in case I don't have a barrel for it.
The router has Speed Boost, Bandwidth and Thoroughness, and my understanding is that this should put items in quickly, a stack at a time, and completely fill the barrel before moving onto another one. However, the thoroughness upgrade does not seem to work, as items will randomly split between the barrel it's supposed to go in, and the chest. The items would go into the empty barrels if I hadn't put stone in there to stop it happening.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something really stupid and wrong?

P.S. I've talked to a friend who's good with Factorization, he couldn't work out why it wasn't working either.

I believe the upgrade only helps if youre using an inventory. I suggest looking at http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/factorization-router-with-overflow-chests.8120/ and then creating one that works for you. Hope the mod maker fixes this because routers are so awesome.

any news if the thoroughness not working is indeed a bug, and maybe possible fix/update upcoming? has neptunepink acknowledged this?

It is a known issue that the thoroughness upgrade does not play as expected with barrels....
