After sitting at a white screen for a good five minutes, the launcher finally opens. After that, when I click Launch on the Monster pack to install it for the first time, it says there is a new version. I click yes, and the "Downloading Modpack" bar comes up. And does nothing. In the console, I can see it time out, and then says it loaded modpack 33. Five minutes after this, it launches minecraft with no mods installed. Any clue as to what I can do?

It sits at the "Issue with new md5 method" for quite a while, if that means anything.

You have way too many Java versions installed and the launcher is liking the 64bit version one, which happens to be Jdk 6u26. Please uninstall all versions of Java, restart your comptuer. Then install only the 64bit version of 7u51 and restart your computer one more time. This basic troubleshooting guide will help with that and more.

I really am starting to hate Java. I uninstalled every last bit of java three weeks ago, and installed 7 update 45 (which was the current one at that time). I had trouble two days later, and found out it was using java 6 (which i made sure to uninstall).

Sorry for the double post, I just want to make sure its noticed I changed something.

So I went into add and remove programs. We now have a problem. 7u45 is the only version of Java I have, other than the SE JDK 6u26. I assume this is the java it is using, so I will delete it. However, I don't see the other versions of Java. Is this a problem?

Also, when I installed 7u51, it installed the 32 bit version. Not sure why.

EDIT: And now it seems to be installing normal minecraft again.
EDIT 2: I followed every instruction on that troubleshooting guide. Still doing it. I installed both 32 and 64 javas, one for Chrome (which is apperently 32 bit according to the website?) and one for FTB and everything else.

As you can see, the 32 bit java is the one that I get from clicking "Download," I had to go in and find another x64.

But, it just began downloading correctly. Problem solved, I guess?

The reason 32bit downloads is that you are using a 32bit browser so it assumes you want the version that it wants. Most users will need to go to the manual download page to get the 64bit version. Java can be annoying in that sometimes the uninstaller misses some files or registry keys that leave the system believing that the older version of Java is still installed. It is a known problem.

Did you not have an internet connection at the time you made that log or are you having difficulty connecting? The last part of your post quoted above leads me to believe this is the case.

After all this trouble, I think the problem was that I had the download location set to Chicago, and that wasn't working. I forgot I had done this. I did it because at the time I did, it sped the downloads up quite a bit. I guess it was having problems. However, this DID solve my problem of the launcher being white for quite some time and not even loading the maps or texture packs.
