First off, this is for the 1.10.2 Minecraft version of the pack.
So I've been watching a Youtuber (named To Asgaard), who claimed the Generator from Draconic Evolution can produce 160RF/T. That, is a lot of power for mid-game. And with the reputation I've heard of the mod, I felt it was to be expected it would be powerful. I did the math, and 20 of these would produce 3kRF/T. Wow!
I went through all the hell setting up a tree farm, getting charcoal going, using RFTools Resonators to turn it into Red Coal, all in hopes to have a really good power supply that would last me for a good while until I was ready to move to an Extreme Reactor.

But in reality...the thing only produces 90RF/T (it even says so on the Wiki). I was confused why I couldn't run my quarry, and I noticed I was producing 1.8kRF/T (which is 20 generators).
All of that work. All of that effort.. and THIS is the payout?! On top of that, a TNT Generator from Extra Utilities 2 (from dire's Let's Play) actually produces twice the power of one Generator from Draconic Evolution.... how?

Isn't Draconic Evolution supposed to be the powerful, OP mod for late game? How come the 'early mod' generators don't follow suit?
Why do these things only produce 50RF/T more than a lava generator setup I was using with Actually Additions(which produces 40RF/T)? Costing a diamond per generator (to craft the Draconic Core), it feels quite... "I feel cheated". I expected more power.. not 50RF/T more per Generator.

Or is this all something I'm not looking? This is why I made this thread in hopes someone knows how to actually get the real power out of one of these generators. All I do know is it's making me miss Thermal Expansion more and more (Steam Dynamos).

The awesome DE generator isn't implemented yet.

The dinky coal gen is just there in case you don't have any other power gen mods installed.

So this is why it costs 1 Diamond per Generator? Still feels extremely underpowered with (when it gets implemented in 1.10.2) how extremely powerful (and equally expensive) the nuke in a sphere is.

I just expected more with the reputation of the mod. First time (that I know) it's come to the Direwolf20 pack (usually being exclusive to FTB Infinity).
It pains me to tear down all of that work, for something much more compact (yet more powerful). Feels like taking a step backwards.

As has already been stated, it's ONLY there to give you early game RF generation if there are no other options - the mod is designed, much like Botania, to not REQUIRE any other tech mods. In that circumstance, one diamond is a fine cost to pay.

This is what happens when you act without doing ample research. Wikis and test worlds can save you a.lot of wasted resources if you devote the time. If not, sometimes you just learn as you go, making mistakes along the way. The good news is, this ate a half stack of diamonds rather than leaving a crater where your base used to be. Perspective.

Edit:. There may be a config for their output, which might explain why the guy you watched had different results than you. Not sure, but seems likely if it's not the exact same pack.
