So.. This new pack is stopping for 10-20 secs everytime the map saves. This problem wasn't in the earlier versions and havent been present on the vanilla server I've been hosting.

Does anyone have any fix for this or know why it's happening?

Thanks alot in advance.

My servers specs:
IBM 3960M4
2x Intel Xeon 2650V2 CPU @ 3.4ghz (32 cores hyperthreaded)
32GB RAM (15GB dedicated to running the server with java args)
4x SSD 128GB in RAID5

This is a dedicated machine, only for use by the direwolf20 server. The server also has 2GB internet connection.

As for the server logs, I'm currently running WorldBorder fill process. I know this process is a taxing process for the server, but even without the fill process going, doing a map save takes 10-20 secs. When the fill process is running and worldborder is saving generated chunks to the disk, the server hangs for up to 20 seconds. This hasnt been a problem on any other version of Minecraft I've run on this server (DW1.5, and DW1.4.7 and Vanilla 1.7).

I apologize for the somewhat huge log file (500kb) but I was unsure what information you wanted.

Edit:
As seen at the following two lines, the save process takes a bit over 20 seconds. The normal "save-all" command takes as long time as this.

2013-12-20 00:04:39 [INFO] [WorldBorder] [Fill] Saving the world to disk, just to be on the safe side. (free mem: 12647 MB)
2013-12-20 00:05:00 [INFO] [WorldBorder] [Fill] 1 more chunks processed (713613 total, ~43.7%) (free mem: 12625 MB)

Thanks.

This problem was fixed with the latest MCPC+ build (184). They implemented "thread-safe saving"
