I have had a windows 7 computer which could run minecraft and other things very well but we had bought an acer windows 8 computer that us completely hopeless. My windows 8 is connected to the Internet in the kitchen and my windows 7 is in the office not connected to the Internet. What I would like to do is hook up my windows 7 to my wifi network so I can play on servers on my windows 7. This needs to be easy as I am not a tech person what so ever.
(My router is a d-link dir-615) Thankyou!

Does your Windows 7 computer have a Wifi device? Do you know your wifi password?

ok assuming you are in range to your router..... if your windows 8 has internet(lan0) and you want to connect the windows 7 machine to the net via (wlan0) then if your Win7 machine does not have a wifi adapter you will need to get one and have it connect to your router. Here is an idea so you know what your looking for http://www.walmart.com/ip/Netgear-WNA3100-802.11n-draft-Wi-Fi-Adapter/14977232...that is just one, any will most likely work but shoot for wifi N if you can.

Lan0= Direct connect with ethernet.....the 0 is for the 1 ethernet port on your machine.
Wlan0= Wifi adapter.......the 0 is for the 1 device that is wifi adapter

I hope this helps out...just go get the Dongle and install the software first, then plug it in when it tells you...it's a usb wifi adapter or usb Wifi dongle..same thing just depends on who you ask. And then of course you will need your wifi password...that's on you as i can't tell you...but check your router most have them on the side unless changed.
