Cant login to play ftb or any MC

Hi there, I have been trying to play FTB for a couple months though it has worked before but now when i try to login it comes up with an error message reading

"IOException, minecraft servers might be down. Check @ help.mojang.com"

I have tried uninstalling java and the launcher and also disabling my antivirus before trying (eset smart security 7) and i have also tried following the troubleshooting guide, though none has worked.

Sometimes these things solve themselves. The mojang servers might be down as I've heard from some users that the ones at help.mojang.com only display the results for the latest version of minecraft. I'm not sure how accurate that info is, but it might explain why the problem shows up, the site says everything is okay and eventually the problem is solved after a while. If your 100% sure it is not your antivirus program and/or firewall and have followed the basic troubleshooting guide, carefully and fully, then all I can think of is wait, sorry.

Check your password, sometimes, the passowrd will turn into a long series of dots instead of the actual password.

I've asked @progwml6 again if the dev team is still aware of the persistent login issues.
To my knowledge, the problem lies with our current launcher using the old login method. As far as I am aware, this was/is planned to be updated to the new method.

All threads created regarding Invalid Log in or Username/Password issues will be locked after the usual fixes are posted.

We know it's an issue. I don't have an ETA on a fix.
