Can't get REI's to work?

I have the .zip in there... I enabled the thing in the config... still won't show up?

I had some luck in MultiMC by installing REI's as a jar mod. If you're not using MultiMC, then you can probably install it in the jar yourself.

Weird as it always has been a .mods mod.

I think that's likely still the intention, must be something with the newer version of forge, as a lot of people seem to indicate it loads just fine with the version a few revisions older than the current.
