So I recently found out that my server is using a version of linux which doesn't support Java 1.8. Upgrading it to a short-term support version isn't an option at this moment in time.
The latest version of thaumcraft uses some methods only available in java 1.8 so whenever somebody places a golem, it crashes the entire server with a method not found exception. The server is currently using java 1.7.
Would it be possible to simply downgrade to a previous version of thaumcraft and still use my existing world or would that corrupt a lot of things? If it's possible to downgrade, can somebody recommend a version of thaumcraft which would be usable with java 1.7?
I'm using Feed The Beast Infinity Evolved if this changes anything.
Thanks
