Black screen after launching

Ok, I can launch the launcher, and I select FTB unhinged... same as I always have...
I get the FTB letters on the screen, then that goes away and I get Sortex with fanfare screen... after a few moments of that I get the black screen and nothing comes up...

You need to reserve more memory for minecraft. To do so you will need to use the 64bit version of Java, in 32bit Java you can only allocate up to 1GB of RAM. Also be sure to get the latest version of Java with at the moment is update 40. About 2GB would do.
