    TTA CPU build (working!)

Yet Another Project Red build guys...and this is quite an interesting one. I was inspired to build this based on WireWorld....If you don't know what that is, think Conways Game of Life but with a ruleset designed to mimic the properties of electrons running around circuits. a google search will...

    Coal from Charcoal

and yet you can produce every metal, gem and mob drop that can be mined/hacked/slashed/smashed with magical crops. i know, i abused the living bejesus out of it. I once tried making an AE network that could produce literally almost every item you could craft in FTB Monster using a gigantic...

    Coal from Charcoal

once upon a time, MFR had an involved process where you could produce coal by using slaughterhouses and meat packers/pink slime -> cooked meat -> coal did that get the nerf bat? I've seen quite an aversion to automating coal production thru means other than mining the ore

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

ignore what i said...apparently routing signals across multiple IC's is the culprit..not the ic design itself. im getting the same problem I had before, again let me illustrate: sigh. i guess ill check out other mods in the meantime..i had really high hopes for PR...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

a little 'niggle' about designing Project Red IC's (for MC version 1.7.10) dont use bundled cables in the schematics. This resulted in many hours of fsck'ing, tearing up blueprints, and going nearly bald. For some reason..they do not behave well when attached to input/output sides. I built a...

is there a better way to get turtle location in 3d space?

I ended up using a command computer, commands.getBlockPosition() rocked my world. i read up on the cc forums that theres a 'virtual turtle' script being worked on that would be controlled by a command computer. Im really curious how that turns out, pretty slick idea too.

is there a better way to get turtle location in 3d space?

I know computercraft has the gps program to do location requests. is there an alternative way or am i stuck setting up the 4 gps hosts? i just dont like having to set it up like that...wishing there was a more 'natural' way to get a turtle to know where its at without hardcoding coordinates in...

EvE discussion moved from "What have you discovered"?

i dont know much about that since my first toon was created in 2008 (right around the graphical update expansion)...but i *do* remember goons starting something similar with the hulkageddons. At least they didnt claim that you had to pay to mine. I had to mine thru a couple years of that and...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

yep goonies been at it for quite some time. been there when bob fell. it was very sad to see them go like that, i ran with an indy corp that produced goods for them. as for never playing eve because of that...you have to realize ccp actually WANTS and encourages this behaviour. The scamming...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

so...i did discover a cool thing..but not so little ;) so i started a new map with ftb inventions. I went mining deep underground and i found a dungeon...lo and behold there was 2 mega rubber saplings in the loot chest. I planted one, figuring eh..it probably wont be *that* big. I come back up...

    Lights Out...with project red

yep my bad, goofy typos. you have to realize the redstone event happens 2x on every incoming rs change...once when signal goes up, then when it goes low. the redstone event doesnt distinguish which side or state. just that it happened. and luckily it doesnt trigger on the rs.setOutput...

    Lights Out...with project red

years of redstone and trying to understand basic logic, timing, digital logic circuits..i've been playing this mod, and its predecessors all the way back to FTB ultimate, with the original RedPower mod that started it all (Eloraam...we really need you back :( ). Also helps to know how to throw...

    Lights Out...with project red

i couldnt leave it alone..i dont like having big circuits like that flying about when it could be done in an ic...and so I have a new IC that does the random board setup i had going in previous post so i changed up the random generation so it generates a 4 bit number. feed that 4 bit number...

    Lights Out...with project red

all these lights out builds I've seen were always missing something: a way to initialize the board with a random pattern to solve. I might be wrong tho, i've seen some pretty crazy builds on redstone servers before, but here's my take on it Whats going on here is there's a group of dec...

    Lights Out...with project red

i bet you guys are getting tired of me and all this project red nonsense...but never the less...i actually managed to make it even smaller ;) 2x2 wide/high, and 5 deep (for the reset signal grid you see on the back). this runs exactly the same as the 2nd version, using the same ic chips in a...

    Lights Out...with project red

heh so i had to come back to this. I figured out a way to make the circuit *much* smaller the 2 boards are identical...the one on top is the one i did in the last post. left is bennycubes version..right is mine and look at the difference! mine is only 3 blocks high, including the light...

    Lights Out...with project red

I took a break from my cpu build and was toying around my redstone map, and wondered hmmm...lights out with project red...challenge accepted ;) this is based on bennycube's design (which you see here in the purple wool version) the logic is exactly the same...the pressure plate sends a...

    Project Red cpu build

getting there, slowly but surely ;) had to add a zero flag line to the register...its the brown line going down vertically. a buffer gate (hanging on the sides of the orange blocks by the output lines) on each toggles output and a not gate at the bottom handles the logic for the zero flag...
