Can someone explain "smooth" stone to me?

Mmmmmm, not true. I specify between planks and logs all the time. If I just ask my brother for "wood", he will almost invariably give me planks. Regardless, as you said the term "smoothstone" is not necessary to avoid confusion with cobble, but it does avoid confusion better than simply...

    Ruined City biome?

^^^Are you trying to give reasons why this shouldn't be done, or reasons why it would be perfect...?

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

Surely: Also, that's very nice looking for a first-day house. The smooth and chiseled sandstone are quite nice. Even the cobble isn't all the bad when used sparingly and to provide some color contrast! :P

    Auto Egg Collection.

Did you use a timer or some other redstone pulse? I use transposers to pick up items fairly frequently. The pulse should cover a 3x3 area.

Question about Barrels from Factorization Mod

There's still massive benefit to using RP tubes over BC pipes for this kind of thing. Getting BC pipes to work with that many barrels would be an absolute nightmare by comparison, since you would have to explicitly tell every item where to go at every intersection. But anyway, just slap...

Question about Barrels from Factorization Mod

I would guess that this is your problem in some way shape or form. A barrel and pneumatic tube based sorting system is typically meant to never have any empty barrels, thereby leaving each item only one possible valid destination. If that doesn't help (or doesn't make sense) a picture would...

    RedPower for FTB 1.5

I've heard of one that sort of does. (I want to say ugocraft, but I don't really remember...). I've never used it (whatever it's called) myself, but whenever people mention it they tend not to sound too optimistic. I'm with you though. Frames are EASILY one the RP2 features that I like the most.

    Nether Pump Detonation Mystery

Yeah, and it's not uncommon I'm afraid. I tend to use lots of ender chests, so I backup my world very frequently for this exact reason. (Among others I guess...)

Besides MC, what have you been playing lately?

^^^Unfortunately the storyline also moves really slowly... MC is my mainstay these days, but some of my past favorites that tend to resurface now and then: -Supreme Commander. Not '2'. One of the best RTS games out there if you ask me. For my playing style at least. -Earth 2150. It has a few...

    Too Many Rules

The player builds a furnace and uses some of the previously-punched trees to create some charcoal. An admin tells him he may not play on Peaceful.

Help for a futuristic building design ( Aesthetics Help )

I'm so-so on the blue engineering brick, but the rest looks fantastic! Great choices there. I think I'm gonna have to start using more construction foam myself. ;)

Help for a futuristic building design ( Aesthetics Help )

Ah. I'd say almost anything that has been suggested would go well with cyan lamps. Probably the lighter colored ones more than the dark ones. I can't say I have any additional suggestions based on that though...

Help for a futuristic building design ( Aesthetics Help )

Not that bumps are always bad, but waiting less than an hour to do so might be a tad on the impatient side... ;) What exactly are you asking in your last question? The only connection I can seem to make between beams of cyan lamps and CC computers is that maybe you want to use a computer to...

Help for a futuristic building design ( Aesthetics Help )

Dang, that looks nice. I really wish I had access to that smokey quartz for a build that I'm working on right now, but I'm doing it in the DW20 pack and there's no way I'd be able to transfer it to 1.5. Black warded stone and basalt can only get me so far...

Help for a futuristic building design ( Aesthetics Help )

Ummm, regular ol' IC2 machine blocks? More expensive than iron block covers, but a tad less expensive than full iron blocks. And much better looking IMO. I also happen to love the look of white, light gray, gray, and black warded stone. But that's a pain if you don't have a decent TC3 setup...

Is There A Way To Shut Off The Power Flow To Pipes?

The slightly more helpful version of that response would be to use TE energy conduits instead. If you want to stick with BC pipes for some reason you could use BC gates to output a redstone signal to the tesseract when the quarry has work to do, and then set the tesseract to shut off without a...

Help me set up my automatic storage...

The only way that I can think of, besides keeping multiple chests auto-filled like arentol said, would be to use a handheld transmitter from WRCBE with various frequencies for different items. Send each frequency to a CC computer using bundled cable. How the computer tells the system to send the...

Help for a futuristic building design ( Aesthetics Help )

Iron blocks are good depending how rich you're feeling. ;) You can cut down the cost considerably by slicing them up into microblock covers. If you're up for a darker feel, I like basalt pavers personally. And Xycraft blocks can be good if used very judiciously. Mostly the black ones if you...

    I need a map...

I don't know of any such maps, but they may exist. The other option, of course, would be to put yourself in creative mode and give yourself the essentials to get going. This would allow you to give yourself as large or as small of a head-start as you feel like. Plus you can pick your base...
