Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Oooh yeah that sounds right. I just though "big axe" which for me apparently automatically defaults to battle axe. :P

I think the lumber ax just does a vertical column of wooden blocks - so 1x1x9 or something like that. So it could still work for everything but the entrance (assuming I'm right of course...)

    Requesting Ideas for Dwarven Fortress.

That combination of biomes sounds amazing! Crags do have some bizarre terrain generation sometimes, but that's probably to be expected when you're trying to generate such extreme shapes. My brother and I are actually building in a crag biome right now too. We're sinking our base into the face of...

    Requesting Ideas for Dwarven Fortress.

I second all of this advice. And I'd say at least 20 blocks in most cases. And to echo Birch - a crag biome would be PERFECT for this sort of thing. Not that others wouldn't work, but if you're looking for massive terrain to work with, BoP's crag biome is just the ticket. I don't suppose...

    Requesting Ideas for Dwarven Fortress.

Well, this is NOT mine. But a Google image search revealed this MC version of Erebor that you may or may not have seen. I didn't bother to investigate whether the project is still ongoing or what, but I'm sure a further search would give you a lot more to go on...

Self sufficient and very small fuel generator.

Well, overpowered discussions and despawn questions notwithstanding, I intend to build a real-game system some time this weekend. I'll report back any results of interest. And regardless, I appreciate this conversation as another source of inspiration to think outside the box more than I...

Self sufficient and very small fuel generator.

Well that's why the OP mentioned the jailer's safari net. Even if that still allows the squid to despawn after a longer time period (I wouldn't know, I've never used one) that's still very low maintenance given that apparently one or two squids should do the job. And I can think of a few ways to...

Self sufficient and very small fuel generator.

Not bad! I like infinite power systems as long as I can justify them by virtue of sheer sillyness. :D Now I just need to figure out how many squid I need to run a dozen-or-so 36HP boilers! EDIT: Has anyone tested the accuracy of the boiler fuel calculator for 1.5.2? I haven't used it for a while...

Self sufficient and very small fuel generator.

It's funky. I like it. Have you tested it over a time period to see how quickly you're producing surplus fuel?

Problem converting Blaze Powder into Blaze Rods.

EDIT: I should probably refresh a forum page that I left sitting open before I reply to it... :P It isn't hard, this is the main thing you need: http://ftbwiki.org/Force_Infuser You'll need to learn the bare basics of Dartcraft - principally how to get a tome and force saplings.

    Building a SkyScraper

I love that engine/boiler layout. Hope you can keep those bad boys fueled! I'm also a fan of the 'brutalist' architecture. So far it's quite well done IMO - just the right amount of basic detail.

    1.6.2 IC2 experimental version changes.

Generally speaking I like the changes; I just think IC2 needs to include some more incentives for developing the mod's infrastructure. Right now the only appealing "goal" for me (aside from a killer ore processing system itself) is a building a gravi suit. Maybe you could add a super powerful...

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

Ah yes, that sounds familiar. Must be TE illuminators then. I'll check that out once I finally get back on. And maybe you'll like Xycraft a bit better once Soaryn actually gets the power system implemented. One can hope. ;)

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

Oh, that could be. I didn't think of those. Wrath lamps and nitor I recognize. I didn't think Xycraft was in Unleashed yet though? If I'm wrong, that's a double face-palm on my part...

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

What exactly are the colored lamps that you seem to use throughout various buildings? I haven't been able to find something like that in Unleashed, but maybe it should be obvious and I'm just being silly... Also, I like the base! The clean white look of the tech building is...

    StarMade

I've been toying with this myself. So far - TONS of fun! My main problem is getting enough of the same color hardened hull bits to make a ship as large as I want to. I think that means I need to get some factories going so I can produce my own ship components, but I haven't looked into that yet...

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

I suppose he could do that, but that wouldn't be "self-sufficient" in my book. My guess? Bees. Many things can be produced infinitely in a variety of ways. But for everything else, there's bees.

I have a problem with my Macerator

I'm having a little trouble understanding exactly what you're problems are, but if I'm understanding correctly, try the following: 1) As mentioned, pump into the top of the macerator. Any regular pipe is fine, as long as you never try to pump in more than a stack. If you want to be able to do...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

I think that there is a 100 MJ/t limit on any tesseract - sending or receiving. This would mean that if you have a single tesseract sending 100 MJ/t, a single receiving tesseract would output 75 MJ/t due to the energy loss. If your total requirement is greater than 75 but less than 100, you...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Depending on his power draw, he very well might. I needed two to power multiple extra bees machines, for instance. And to answer the question, yes, the energy will "join". I don't know if conductive pipes have a transfer limit or not since the 1.5 changes, but energy conduits would work fine...
