Question/Suggestion: IC2 has some mining tools you can use, thaumcraft also adds tools, why should there be tinker's in the pack? Tinkers just means most people won't even look into other kinds of tools..

In 1.7.10 you need to make a signalum lock in order to get that security tab back. If you check tesseract uses with NEI it should be there. I think it's a signalum lock and some signalum nuggets, can't check it right now though, sorry :)

Never had this problem before but in the recent versions of the 1.7.10 packs, I use opis and every time I relog my map resets and all my waypoints are gone. Known problem or am I doing something wrong?

So far I've only found them mixed with huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge coal veins. Mostly coal, but there were quite a lot of diamonds too, considering the veins are about 3x3 chunks in size :P

Still evaluating that aspect, we'll see :P

~Is it normal to have so much trouble with meteors? I have completed the survival branch quests, now looking for meteor chips. But when they crash, I find alien creepers and/or a giant forest fire, but there's never those meteor blocks on the ground to mine?
