depending on the size of the stuff you made, you may be able to just copy the .mca file from your old world to the new one. A .mca file is much more than 1 chunk -- im guessing 16x16 or 32x32 chunks. Simple, no extra mods needed, but you wont be able to relocate stuff to a new position.

I DO find one drawback when flying as a bat -- mainly the TiC hammer / excavator will get buggy. Sometimes only mines 1 block, sometimes mines the wrong direction. Very small price to pay for the power of flight.
