    Is anyone else having trouble with chupacabras just totally ignoring iterdiction torches? That wouldn't be such a problem on its own, but they also appear able to spawn just about anywhere, even in a fully lit room with a half slab floor, which has made it utterly impossible to secure my base...

    I'd probably set the battle tower distance to 512, since it appears to just place them as often as it can. Haven't tinkered with the Abyssalcraft spawn rate yet, I only found it just now and I'm at work so I can't experiment with it. I'd say set it for 10 and see what we get?

    Well, the "evil animal spawn rate" is in abyssalcraft.cfg. It should be set to 20 right now, but it sounds like you might want to dial it down to about a 5. You might also want to pop into BattleTowers.cfg and increase the minimum distance between towers and their minimum distance from spawn.

    Wow. I had to deal with a homicidal chicken, but that wasn't toooo bad. It shouldn't be ALL passive mobs, so you've either got terrible luck or there's something wrong with a config somewhere. As far as the Battletowers go, as long as you stay about 15-20 blocks from the entrance you should be OK.

    The Silverwood is touchy and requires a lot more open space than I'd initially expected it would, but the Grower will work on them. I just filled a node with red aura and used dynamite to dose it with a ton of grow ticks at once.

    They're pretty common compared to the essence infused stone, and I like that they're a reason to go caving. Plus IIRC there's a crystal seed you can make to grow more now.

    If you had to craft it, I would agree, but since you get the pick as a freebie anyway you might as well use it.

    You also get a Pick of the Core as a quest reward at some point, and you can use it's right click 'sonar' function to locate ores, which is especially useful in combination with a divining rod.

    I've got to agree on this, on both points. Botania flowers are a touch too rare (I think they're being crowded out by other ground cover) and battle towers are strewn everywhere. Also, the magic bean pods seem way too common.
