Post a fresh log please.You have windows xp so the only pack that you will be able to play is FTB Lite 2 because the other 1.6 packs require a minimum of 2gb of ram which requires 64 bit java which requires a 64 bit os.

Never check for updates like that it does not work correctly. The log refers and an ati file so it is an ATI card you have. What model of card is it? If you did not have the correct version of the pack you would not be able to get on the server at all.

Make sure that in the options 'reopen launcher.... exits' and 'show console' are both ticked. The launcher will now load back up after the crash. Now use the console pastebin button to post the log.

A few av programs will block it not just AVG. You need to add your ftb folder, including any subfolders, to your exceptions list in avg. If you don't know how then google 'How to add an exception to avg'.
