    I recently installed java 8 and have not had any issues with it crashing as of yet. Try removing all java versions then reboot. Now install java 8 and reboot again.

    Just checked dark oak and I made a crafting table. So the issue is maybe on your end. I am using the same version 1.0.1. Edit: I am using Java 8 update 25.

    You are aware that the pack is beta and world resets maybe required. Always have backups available.

    Enable force update in the options and try to launch again. Are you using a cracked version of the launcher?

    If you use the beta launcher you will be able to run the 1.6 packs with java 8. Also don't allocate that amount of ram. You only need 3 to 4gb max as java does not use ram very well. I have mine set at 3gb.

    Ender IO have there own version of them called painted something. Sorry can't remember the exact name.

    It is good to change things around so every pack is not the same. If you don't see that then fine. You could always make your own pack.
