Infinity 1.7.10 is a fantastic as previously mentioned. IMO it "was" modded Minecraft for many years.

Vanilla+, Infinity Lite, and Direwolf20 are all great selections. DW20 is around 70 mods I think.

I never played advanced rocketry but I have played lots of GC. I have always added More Planets and Extra Planets mods. It does wonders for adding in the things GC is missing.

As a general rule, it is not crashing. I have also confirmed that I am actually clicking the save button after editing the java argument. (I think that is what the string is called)

Set a pack to always use a specified amount of ram when using the twitch/curse launcher? When I open the launcher, click launch settings, click the pack, and change the ram allocation to X and launch the game, it is fine. The problem is next time I log in I have to change the allocation again.

@Hambeau I think you are correct. I remember adding GC to a pack of mine once and it did something really goofy to the aluminum ore generation - and you can't play GC without aluminum.

I am a fan of kitchen sink packs and for that reason I recommend either Beyond or All the Mods 2 (not an official FTB pack, although found on their launcher). The drawback here is you have to have a beefy pc to run these types of packs with 170+ mods. If your pc is more of a toaster, check out...
