Is the Aqueous Accumulator set to ignore redstone signal? That lever right next to it intended for the witch water output I believe will also send a signal to the block next to it (the accumulator in this case).

Was the bait right next to the rod on the hotbar? I forget which side of the rod it needs to be on, but I believe that also matters.

When you hammer it you get 4 pieces 50% of the time, 5 pieces 48% of the time, and 6 pieces 2% of the time. This means a 13% average increase, and a combined 27.7% increase going from gravel to dust. Maybe not worth doing later, but it pays off in the beginning.
