I usually use decked out blood armor. With a few in game days of dedicated work you can get up to tier 4,setup the well of suffering and drop 20-30 witches in it. You'll never want for blood again.

As in get a block of BedRock? Not that I'm aware of. I think the BedRock ceiling breaking of the nether with Dark Oak is still doable with Infinity but I'm not positive. What do you need BedRock for?

Try using level 15-20 to get the reaper. You will get Reaper I or II and can use bibliocraft to duplicate and combine it to get up to 5 or use botania to apply it to Gold swords and MFR to disenchant to combine the books.
