Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

I was playing some RoC on a new server and I noticed a lot of really frustrating aspects: A stone shaft works for most engines in the lower tier but god forbid you use a stone gearbox because those seem to blow up with no warning if you change the mode or place it wrong. Blowing up a steel...

People are always going to complain no matter what you do, or don't do. All i'm trying to point out is that the scaling of the engines is off sync with the scaling of speed bonuses, especially when there is no torque requirement. That it's far too easy to overpower a lower tier by moving up 1...

My bad. I was referring to the 2nd and 3rd stages of the extractor, both of which don't involve grinding ores. Mistake on my part. There needs to be better scaling. Moving up a tier should not produce such a large operation bonus compared to devices with greater torque requirements.

What's the explanation for power requirements then? They only seem to be there for balancing sake. You honestly can't say that spinning a shaft core or grinding up ores takes absolutely minimal effort that 1 nm of force suffices. Perhaps things with low or non-existent torque requirements can...

Would it be within the realm of possibility to give all your machines a proper torque requirement? It's just killing the balance of certain aspects of your mod. For example: I'm running 2 grinders. One off a steam engine and one off a gasoline engine. Both are being converted to the most...

If anything the battery is a rehash of the coil as it stores a ton of energy while unleashing a small amount over time. The capacitor is more of a battery with very quick energy releases and low storage. Very good point on the tech tree. Capacitors should never release all their energy at once...

O_O Is it over? Good. On with the show. Dithering machine: Organize your chests with the power of percussive maintenance. Essentially it's a modified pile driver that smacks nearby tile entities causing them and any nearby tile entities to shake rapidly, forcing 'heavier' items to the bottom...

Most of the lag that comes from the Tokamak is from rendering due to all the turbines and entities. Minecraft is terrible at dealing with large amounts of entities so even the relatively cheap fusion ball will choke most rigs if you get enough of them. This is the primary reason you get derp...

By the looks of it a lot of the things in Rotary cannot transfer their heat except when hardcoded in. Perhaps it's time for a universal heating API for rotary to allow dynamic heat transfer to both other Rotary blocks and also to vanilla blocks and entities as well as any mods that use a...

A little bit of an idea for ReactorCraft. Vacuum tubes. Right click one of your Tokamak electromagnets with a vacuum tube in hand and then right click a second one to link them. Repeat this on all of the magnets to complete the chamber. Once complete, pump out all the air by placing one or more...

Oh that explains it. I was using higher end power inputs so of course the scaling would be negligible. Excuse my ignorance.

Thanks for the tip. This should help a tonne for my current setup. EDIT: It didn't. Looks like my 30+ aurorials of power was just too much for it. :( Not necessarily. Because efficiency is dynamic, meaning that higher steps cause greater losses, one would expect that bigger steps would...

I was playing around with the transformer and it always blows up on me if I give it any more than a performance engine. Is there any way to heat-sink it? There also seems to be an issue with ghost blocks and fire after the explosion. Probably a disagreement between the server side and the...

Such a shame too. Speaking of the which I noticed that sometimes if I put a large pack of Aurorials (like over 30) in a single area and wire them to a single point and turn them on, it causes intense load to the point of sometimes having to force-reset Minecraft. Perhaps the system could be...

I just thought of the best idea ever. Van De Graffs can transfer power to un-insulated Electricraft wires within range, temporarily adding to the affected wires' point voltage somewhat like a negative voltage loss. This would allow for a limited Wi-tricity to cross over an area that would...

[Rotarycraft] Shaft power through nether portal

Couldn't you just add the data only within your mod itself? You could add a hash to the block at that area and check for block updates. If any blocks within the hash gets updated than modify the data to fit. You don't need to modify the block itself as the whole system would be done through the...

[Rotarycraft] Shaft power through nether portal

V1f doesn't seem to allow me to do this try as I might. I'm not sure if i'm doing it wrong or if it's just broken. I went to 1000x 1000z in the overworld and than did the math to determine that I had to put the shaft at 125x 125z. I proceed to put shafts in all of the portal blocks that were...

Use the lava smeltery, it's a lot more effective than the RF microwave. It can smelt around 18 things at once and it only costs some lava and 2 DC engine's worth of shaft power to operate. You can easily supply the lava from an OP lava fabricator from TE or use the rock melter from RoC. If you...

I made myself a sexy Tokamak so I don't have to worry about RF production. At this point i'm going out of my way to look for excessive ways to use up all that RF. I suppose I would have used that system if I had it before hand but once you get reactors, even small ones, RF production is no big...
