Depending on what you consider hard to be... I recommend Project Ozone 3. It is a very well designed quest pack with gated tech and a lot of really great mods. If you want pure time sink for the sake of killing time, go Continuum.

Try a combination of item placers and phantom interfaces from actually additions coupled with your favorite timer.

I have zero experience modifying quest based packs, but I would think that a pack like Continuum would be extremely hard to just add mods to. It will completely change the progression and gating that has been done. It might be better to do that with an expert pack that isn't quest based.

Probably the easiest and most over looked automated mining is the atomic reconstructor / lens of the miner. From there move into mystical agriculture or garden cloches. If the quantum quarry is available, that is your top tier quarry.

If you are playing with friends, ask them to teach you their tricks. If you are on a public server, just accept that there are players better than you and enjoy the chat while crafting.

You need to set up an intermediary storage container. Loot crate > any sort of storage box > extraction pipe with filter into 2 containers, 1 trash and 1 keep. If it isnt set up this way you will get a backlog of items.
