Why do people like Thermal Expansion so much?

Reika's, but you probably guessed that already.

Why do people like Thermal Expansion so much?

What are the bugs you are aware of? The goal is definitely 0. EDIT: Bugs that we can actually replicate. We're aware of some very strange cross-mod stuff that happens when mods force-load chunks and Dimensional Doors / Ars Magica is present, or MCPC+ is used. That's really out of our control...

Why do people like Thermal Expansion so much?

They're less performance intensive than vanilla chests actually. In a totally secure framework, however, they would be slight less performant if there were some sort of constant item movement, as everything has to be checked vs owner before allowing a transaction (but still better than vanilla...

Well... it was bound to happen, Greg is nerfing base IC2

TE isn't, but the library that it is built from is. All of the tricks and helpers are laid out - the GUI tabs, rendering assistance, etc. It's a full quarter of our entire codebase.

Well... it was bound to happen, Greg is nerfing base IC2

https://github.com/KingLemming/CoFHLib/tree/master/cofh/api/energy That's it. Funny thing is, CoFHCore and/or TE aren't required. Consider it my gift to the community. Even if I drop off the face of the earth, RF stays. Any mod that wants to use it can; any mods that use it interface with each...

From everything I know, Greg actually really likes RF. Sooo there's that. ;)

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

You're confusing ease with intuitiveness. Dirt-To-Diamond exists. It's obviously way way easier. It isn't used. The draw of a mod isn't the ease, it's how it all fits together. If I added a quarry to TE, and it were objectively worse than BC's quarry in every way (used more power, slower, more...

Why do people like Thermal Expansion so much?

Make a Strongbox. :) They're more expensive and less storage across the board as compared to the IronChest-style equivalents.

Well... it was bound to happen, Greg is nerfing base IC2

As silly as the initial assertion is here, I kind of agree that the better solution was to remove them as a valid fuel. But, it's wood either way. You can't seriously get upset over this. And frankly, Greg isn't a bad guy. The only single complaint I can really have is that his mod is an IC2...

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

Well, that's a bit disingenuous. TE doesn't add a 4 charoal + 1 iron = steel recipe. It does *allow* for it in the Induction Smelter. Which of course requires Invar, which requires a Pulverizer, which requires caving to the point where you've either found Ferrous (at which point you have likely...

    Is it Possible?

A Blaze farm would also work. Or a witch farm and a sugar cane farm.

    Is it Possible?

Technically, yes, although it would help to at least have a chunkloader as well. Perhaps I'll have to add one.

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

Because IC2 unilaterally changed the conversion rate from 1:1 to 1:4. That's what I was referring to earlier. A warning would have been appreciated.

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

To be fair, I forced your hand on that one. But at least I mentioned it to you - the obsidian dust thing was a bit much.

Why do people like Thermal Expansion so much?

Swing and a miss! If this held up, Dirt-To-Diamonds would be the most popular mod far and away. Also, if something is hard to use, that's a failure on the part of the developer, and is conflated with difficulty far too often.

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

This is something weird limited to your server, or your configuration isn't what you think it is. There's no known bug where that happens. The problem is that the BC API is structured in such a way that conduits would be *incredibly* unwieldy if they were able to accept MJ. The API is set up...

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

Energy config stuff is doable, but I have to put certain sanity checks in place. Dynamos are staying at 80 because 1 dynamo per machine was kind of stupid, frankly. We may shy away from supporting MJ directly, but the problem is that it seems the entire "fix" for the situation is completely on...

Why do people like Thermal Expansion so much?

That is nowhere near the same post. You are implying that IC2 and TE3 can't both be liked at the same time. Way to prime the pump there. You should work for Gallup. I have some guesses as to what the responses will be here, but it'd be self-serving to post them. If TE3 isn't your cup of tea...

I agree completely! So I assume you disable the Q-Suit in IC2 as well.

Hello, I'd like to share with you all how storing energy in BuildCraft works.

Just pointing out - the OP is absolutely right. That *is* energy storage. It's a bit inconvenient, but that's part of the intent of Buildcraft (that is not meant as a slight). Energy is part of the puzzle, as SandGrainOne has pointed out. The justification in TE 2.x was this - you hit redstone...
