Sorting Systems, Automation, and all that rot.

Honestly, the only thing I don't like about the 'barrel wall' is that it's not terribly visually appealing. I am a terribly vain person and like things to look good, but otherwise the system I have set up -should- work in theory (once I calibrate all the barrels and chests, of course). It also...

Sorting Systems, Automation, and all that rot.

Preface: I've always been much more magic medieval than anything else, so this is all effectively entirely new to me. So, I've been working on my SSP world (1.7.10) for a few weeks now and have gotten the shell of my final base complete (mage tower for those wondering), but now that it's...

    Beginner's Guide to Blood Magic

Unfortunate, but that's what I was afraid of. Here's hoping @WayofTime offers something alternative some day in the future, I suppose! Perhaps some way to summon a single 'large' creature to constantly bleed for us, ala those gigantic tormented demons you find in Act 3 of Diablo 3, heh. In...

    Beginner's Guide to Blood Magic

Been meaning to ask this for a while, so to get this out of the way: is there a good way to generate LP passively that is low-lag? While I can always get two dozen witches in a well of suffering, that's a fair number of additional entities for my poor fossilized system to track simply to...

    TsoriCo - A steampunk paradise. V2.0

I'd be more inclined towards Idea 1 on a personal level simply because I find working in deserts to be an irritating task. It's brighter, which can be a strain on my eyes when I'm tired or it's night, the biome itself doesn't lend itself well to most mods that care about environment in any...

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

That's what my counselors always tell me. They don't seem to care for it when I laugh after they say that.

Does anyone know about any mods to increase fps in ftb monster?

Sounds like you're already aware of what tweaks you can make to increase performance, so... at this point, it really comes down to two things from my perspective. One, you're using Monster. It's a big pack with lots of overhead. My poor system can't even run it regardless of settings, just...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

So I know that Thaumcraft 4.2 is probably going to have that samurai thaumium armour someone made, but I'm curious as to what else the update is likely to contain. Being that it's a closed beta and all that, I couldn't really dig up much information on it and since my last attempt at TC4.1...

What's new in modded minecraft today?

Looks like stability enhancers or somethin' to me. Would probably hasten my Thaumcraft infrastructure setup quite a bit if so, since I never bother with Infusion until I have a good two stacks worth of candles stabilizing the bloody thing (so many past mistakes/nightmares with that thing)...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Nope, Forge is up to the Latest version, little 'ole 1147. Haven't had any problems with it so far and I believe a couple other mods in my list actually require something later than the Recommended version, so I'm pretty well stuck with it either way haha. Ran the crashlog over by the folks on...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

This is probably a dumb question, so figured I'd try it here. I've been trying to explore Applied Energistics 2 in my world and while everything generates properly, almost nothing has a crafting recipe via NEI. Even a simple Grindstone doesn't have any actual recipe that I can find. The...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

Oh yeah, Railcraft has some pretty nice vanity blocks in it doesn't it? I'd forgotten since I'm in a magic-only pack and I never use Railcraft for its actual intended purpose. Doesn't help that I'm in 1.7.2 so there's several mods I was previously used to, but haven't been updated yet (hence...

    Moving on up to 1.7+

Well whadya know, it -is- the same Evermore I was thinking of. While not the best game ever, there are certainly aspects to it that I enjoyed. I can't imagine doing a world build for it though, you'd need a whole team and a significant amount of time to manage the likes of that beast. Also...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

Speaking of, where -does- one go to get Basalt these days? It's the one thing I wish was in Chisel, as Limestone has precious few (if any?) connecting textures unlike most of the other original materials within the mod. So since I never use the Limestone, I make frequent use of the Marble...

    Moving on up to 1.7+

Makes me think of my usual world name... Terranigma. 'course, you may not be referencing the Evermore I'm thinking of! Quite likely not, really. But eh, nice bit of nostalgia either way!

    Moving on up to 1.7+

This, pretty much. For most folks, 1.7 results in a flat FPS loss overall. My computer's old enough that I never get a solid 60 FPS anyway so I don't really notice it, but most other people with their bleeding edge computers do, haha.

    Moving on up to 1.7+

I haven't heard too much about what makes 1.8 so special, so I couldn't say for sure. On a personal level, I find that trying to update a pack between any major version iteration pretty much always breaks it, so I've stopped even trying to make it go. It's just far too much work even trying to...

    Moving on up to 1.7+

Say this much, it's certainly lovely work! Quite a nice modern aesthetic you have going there, and I certainly understand how much time goes into a good microblock build. Friend of mine is quite skilled with those, I never have the patience. If it were me, I'd say stick with 1.6.4 for now...

    Moving on up to 1.7+

What it essentially comes down to is: it's not worth trying. Moving between major versions tends to break damn near everything, and even for the modders a lot of them had to do a lot of code rewriting between 1.6.4 and 1.7.x. If you wanted to do this, it'd almost certainly be faster to use...

What's new in modded minecraft today?

Much the same for me, but then I like a very traditional RPG look to my game. Pretty much why I generally enjoy the JohnSmithTR resource pack, though I've recently taken quite the shine to @CyanideX's texture work. On the other hand, since I've recently been playing with Carpenter's Doors I...
