    New Version Checker Mod

Squid, I am following a trail of breadcrumbs on Github to attempt to figure out exactly what you're doing to find the most up-to-date mod version on CurseForge, and if that's going to error if a different dev uses a different method than you for something. I am impressed.

Really stupid things that people have said about Modded MC(Off topicness makes moderators tired)

New post! "... so I do not forget to say that in a creative way, I might end up in the hospital."

    New Version Checker Mod

There is a github repo. And we do, at least if we want CF integration :p

    New Version Checker Mod

It's never used outside of the mod, so you could just call the first version you implement it "1" and then increase it by one every time you update. Or you could call it "42500" and increase it by 237 every time you update. It doesn't matter, as long as bigger means more recently released and...

If you're just looking for your standard "Either doesn't know English and is using Google Translate (hopefully this one) or didn't pay attention when learning basic grammar", look no farther than this link!

    New Version Checker Mod

The display version will be the "actual" version. It'll be what the user sees. The technical version is just an int, compared against the file in a server. Bigger means more up to date. Actually, the reason we chose this system was because it seems like everyone uses a different versioning...

Central Comp is behind 5ft of steel. Have fun not being noticed. :p

Comp is a terminal, file is stored on ship's central comp.

We're on a space station; let's say that the will is a file on the person's computer that's emailed to everyone in the village upon their death.

How would the will be destroyed? Did I miss a game mechanic somewhere? :p

Or make it optional and just reveal the will of whoever dies in the nightly recap.

Elect Vike Implement Vampire Role @VikeStep? I think this qualifies as a rule.

    New Version Checker Mod

I'm not going to auto update. Period. There'll be a GUI for downloads (the mod author has to provide a link for the update, and it's completely optional), and you'll just have to restart your client. I suppose servers could update through a command. The command could, in theory, use the same...

    New Version Checker Mod

My response to anything involving "reinventing the wheel" is this: The MC Modding community needs to drop its position on making a new version of a mod is reinventing the wheel. More mods for the same thing = Competition Competition = Innovation. No Competition = Best Buy.

    New Version Checker Mod

Okay, so I talked with the rest of the dev team. Please note that these decisions aren't final: Update severity changes how much the update checker bugs you. Title Screen for basic, stop loading of MC with a click to advance screen for severe, and display in game (closable) for critical. Choice...

Checked the github, it extends the vanilla dragon class.

Technically, the phrase "Vanilla Mod" is an oxymoron - the term 'vanilla' is used in many places, not just Minecraft, to refer to an unmodded game.

    Three words. Variable update criticality.
