    only thing different than birdiegirl's situation is that I have never crashed from the server, do not use the FTB launcher, yet still cannot make a single player game and this is only recently. I can play on my server. Edit: this is the screen I have now when i want to create a new game.

    not just you, its happening with me too. I play on a server but cannot play a single game. Same thing as above happens which is very weird because i thought i was able to play a single player game with the 2.4.2 version before. Could it be a minecraft issue?

    the new updated stuff is in the beta 2.4.2 version and is currently being tested there may be some storyline in middle earth now, definitely hobbiton is there if you tab thru the options when you hit L for the LOTR map it has an option to turn friendly fire on

    The ancient should have given you a charm of dislocation that you should have used to bind a tp back to town. otherwise it will be a long trip or just do the command tp. Edit: the area he tp you to is for you to make your base btw

    suggestion: have you ever tried putting the mod Level Up! into the modpack. seems it would fit nicely in with the theme.

    no legolas will not talk to you until you get further. but you now have the option to go to middle earth. as far as resetting i have no idea about that. havent had that issue.

    he only says to bug off if you dont have the initial first quest from the fountain. when you have listened to the whole thing it will pop up on your screen in the top right. and everyone sleeps at night too. Custom NPC quests are separate from the book but go along side it.

    Sometimes Custom NPCs doubles entities. It shows up in the console log. I usually delete one of them with the npc wand.     If I were to try to disable artifacts from middle earth i would use dimension 100, correct? or do i write in middle earth?
