    Endgame Power Storage Solution?

As far as I'm aware, only an HTGR core can heat a CO2 heater. Filling bedrockium drums would be...deeply impractical. That would require massive amounts of wood to make the cold CO2 and numerous optimal HTGRs running in tandrm to get it going at anything resembling an adequate speed. Standard...

Though, given how easy it is to get water in mass amounts, it hardly matters.

    [ReactorCraft] ReC Mechanics Thread

Would microblocks count for insulation? Since trapdoors count, that would seem to infer that block transparency isn't a factor so, theoretically, you could use lots more things for insulation than I initially thought.

    [ReactorCraft] ReC Mechanics Thread

I think certain blocks can alter temperature, like lava or ice, but as far as non-ice solids go, I don't think there's any effective difference between, say, steel blocks and obsidian as far as insulation is concerned.

If memory serves, there are small losses with ammonia, but that's by design. I believe the rationale that there would always end up being a way to generate a positive feedback loop, otherwise. Also, shameless plug, I made a thread for ReC mechanics that you may want to peruse.

I think environmental factors are capped for the blast furnace, or at least don't contribute enough to get you past plain old steel. The heat lamp, in my experience, overrides the temperature of what it touches, unless its at lower than ambient temperature. Afrer, its a heat lamp, not a...

I think whichever of the two is higher will be used, but not both combined. So, if your heat lamp is at 600C and your friction heater is at 1,000C, the blast furnace will be at 1,000C. Don't quote me on this, but I think you can use them with 4x DC engines to run a grinder, albeit painfully...

Can confirm, heat lamps work with steam engines: put them on the bottom, set the temp to ~110C to account for nighttime cooling (don't set it to just 100 or 101, the cooling at night will be enough to interrupt your power supply), and you're golden. They also work with blast furnaces, but only...

Aye, 4 steam engines doesn't get near any gating content, that I'm aware of, but it still provides a decent smelting speed for what is a rather low investment. Oh, and if memory serves, two steam engines can run a fermenter at one-tick speeds, when properly geared. They're very versatile...

A Quick Aside: Radiation/Neutron Shielding Any good nuclear engineer can tell you that shielding against neutrons and radiation is extremely important. It keeps your environment safe and makes working with your reactor less painful. Certain blocks work better than others when it comes to...

Hold your manipulator over it and see if any slices of the little pie have been filled in; if so, I'm not exactly sure what's gone down, so I'd need to actually look to see if any changes have been made to progression since v15.

That's queer...did it draw any power? If so, I'm not totally sure what's going on.

    FTB Launcher News

Still, you have to admit that something, anything, would be better than the effective nothing Linux users are getting now. Even just a blurb from a dev or someone involved with Curse directly that boiled down to "we're working on it" would do wonders for the public perception of Curse. As it...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Yeah, I get the same issue when plugging in a different output for my machine, like going from speakers to headset; if I do it while Minecraft's open, the sound promptly freaks out and crashes. Good to know there's a solution other than restarting Minecraft.

Not sure if progression has changed in v16, but I think you need to get a colour into the ritual table; choose the closest of Kuro, Karmir, and Kitrino then try to get Pylon Surge Protection. Just be careful, the wood repeaters can overload quite... spectacularly.

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

ElectriCraft batteries do not explode, unlike industrial coils. The only danger I've experienced is the wires melting into lava if overcharged. If a battery is full, it simply won't accept more power, which is why it's a good idea to have a few empties on hand, so you waste as little as possible.

ElectriCraft RF transfer cables can handle up to, if memory serves, Integer.MAX_VALUE RF/t, depending on how you configure the line.
