    FTB Launcher News

Eeh, I wouldn't copy + alter. I don't touch Java if I can avoid it; it and I have an...understanding. I'd likely adapt it into C# + WPF. Makes the UI easier to setup and doing code-behind is perfectly familiar territory. Mostly what I want/need to know is how to interact with minecraft.jar...

    FTB Launcher News

XD There's still some useful parts to it, I'm sure. Maybe not the spaghetti code, but some functional parts would, no doubt, be at least somewhat useful. Also, didn't know it was open-source. I assume there's a GitHub for it or something, so I'll Google it and see what I find. Thankfully, I...

According to Wiki, SRG stands for "Stirling radioisotope generator," basically a rotational form of an RTG.

Wait...no settings unless you're logged in? Are they stored server-side? If so, might I ask why? That is absolutely nonsensical, if true.

    FTB Launcher News

Would the FTB team be angry if someone took what's available behind the scenes for the FTB launcher and adapted it to another? Sans branding, of course. I ask because I'd be...interested in such a thing, if nothing else than as a personal project to kill time and learn things. I'm really not...

1001 things to do in modded minecraft

654: Try to build a scale replica of your home, only to realize that you live in an apartment and your in-game home would be uselessly small.

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

Reika himself has said that the RF-to-shaft converter was only to teleport power in absence of ChromatiCraft and/or significant progression in said mod. By default, there's no loss in either direction, but it also comes 520:1 watts to RF ratio and the one that makes shaft power consumes liquid...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

I come back to it every few months. Underworld is on my to-get list, too. Actually doing an LP, a la Nakar, over here (http://fqa.digibase.ca/index.php?topic=7350.0) , if you're interested. Sorry for the crap link. Tablet doesn't do highlighting properly here, for some reason.

Its bad at handling everything. Seriously, just look over the #BlameMojang thread. "Amateur" only cuts it on porno, Mojang.

True, but it doesn't sound as fancy. :P

I prefer the term "finite, but arbitrarily large." Sidesteps the semantic issues one get entangled with when one uses "infinite."

I think 50C is within the acceptable range. That's 122F, so only just outside a really, really hot summer day. Yours, if it doesn't use air, likely just uses water. Anything else would require more than just a pump and heat sink; freon, for example, is used in refrigerators, and would require...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Playing Ultima 7 Part II, and saw that a random cat on the street has an NPC ID, as well as a name: Smudge. If it has an ID, the cheat menu can access and alter it, which is why random NPCs that spawn from eggs (think spawners) can't be hacked. But, Smudge can. So, on a lark, I added the cat...

Someone insane? Hell if I know, though I really don't know why Forge doesn't include that method. I mean, longs are primitives just like ints. They might not be as widely-used, but one should typically support primitive types of all varieties, if nothing else then for completeness' sake.

Other than a faster CPU or dropping mods, I don't think there is a way. Its just kinda naturally slow-loading.

So I am! Still, really wish they'd have gone with longs for RF, if only to see people scramble to fill that completely. Though, how does that amount of power work? Is it sent in multiple packets?

Nothing, so far as I know. Its just one of those little crashes you gotta put up with if you wanna deal with Minecraft. Seriously, I have never found a fix for that.

Only 41 million RF/t? Poor Plasmaboo, you have no idea what you can do with Mekanism 9's steam turbines. Give it enough steam, and I can nearly triple that amount. As for moving it: cryo-stabilized fluxducts or ElectriCraft. Using that much power, however, is another matter altogether. Not...

    MineTweaker/ModTweaker - A help and suggestions thread.

Ohhhhhh. Huh...that's queer, then. Maybe do a blanket search in your /minecraft/ folder for anything ending in .log? Its kinda blunt-force, but it'd do the trick...though, you've prolly done that already.
