For SMP, configs on the server side is the one you have to look at, in case you are looking at your SSP configs.

Is forge installed? Is the map generated before or after the mods are added? Have you checked your config files?

Tree farm. Charcoal. If you have Mekanism, charcoal blocks. Endoflames. Lots of mana. With some vanilla redstone and pressure plate, coupled with Botania's own mechanism, automated feeding of those charcoal/charcoal blocks can be done easily.

I swear charcoal is the best fuel in modded minecraft.
