What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Oh, I'm dissapointed... in Grindstone from AE2. No way to automate it. I tried player-simulating block on its crank, and it just drops. Looked at their code and saw that they deliberately make the crank drop if it's used by a fake player. Sneaky...

It breaks the leaves every 5 ticks, so 4 units per second. Energy produced is 300 RF/CF per block. The range/radius is 7 blocks. So, the energy production rate should be 300/5=60 RF per tick.

    Block of the day

Today's block is Leaf-eating Generator from ActuallyAdditions: It generates power by destroying leaves, thus is useful in combination with tree farms. Also helps to get rid of big trees remains. It keeps its energy when broken, so I use it as a backup portable battery for the energy systems...

What's new in modded minecraft today?

As Forge recently updated to 1.12, I'm posting latest version of unfamous mod 'Fine Stuff' for 1.11.2.

    Block of the day

Today's block is Nature Core from Random Things. I found one at the sea bottom. It is enclosed in jungle leaves and wood like this: Uncovered: It grows grass, flowers and saplings around it and spawns animals. There is no info about it in-game so maybe it has some more features besides these.

All right, I will start with vanilla creatures first. I'm currently modding for version 1.11.2, we'll see later if the mod can be backported to 1.10. Maybe we should create a dedicated topic for this later?

Progress update: yes, it is possible. I've made most animals (even rabbits) to attack the player. And villagers can do that, too. Now tell me what you want, because I can change who can they attack, their damage, speed, other attributes. Probably I'll manage to assign other unusual AI tasks, too.

    I will look into it.

This is partially possible. Making aggressive mobs hostile to other mobs is easy. But we can't make passive mobs hostile, specifically, those that don't have any attacks.

Is there a machine for 1.11.2 which can automatically 'compact' and 'uncompact' items (e.g. redstone dust to redstone blocks, ingots to nuggets)?

Yes, I think you have to attach the importer to the bottom.

I forgot about that one. Definitely a useful block.

    Block of the day

Today's block is Item Interface from Actual Additions: The manual says that this block is like an aggregator of inventories which are linked by Item Laser Relays. It has no GUI, but it provides an ability to do operations on connected inventories at once. For example, you can transfer items...

Let's try this game: 1. Pick a favorite block from any mod you've played; 2. Explain what it does and why is it so good; 3. Optionally link relevant images with this block; 4. Don't post the block if you are the one who created it. The goal is to get familiar with cool blocks you possibly...
