I don't think there is, just make sure you've got plenty of Grass everywhere so wherever they wonder they'll be able to consume it quickly.

Yes, this is possible. Simply download the mod for the correct version of Minecraft, select Direwolf20 on the launcher and click "Edit Mod Pack", select "Add Mod" and add Chisel. Then just launch the modpack normally. :)

I recommend this, although I remember it being a pain to create, it will solve a lot of problems with farming.

Yep, it's a vanilla rule. Someone should make a mod that allows you to have a water source elsewhere. :p
