Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

KingLemming, any chance of you adding a jetpack in either TE or RA? It's pretty much all I use IC2 for at this point. I really missed a good flight option in Horizons as well. Most everything is too late in the tech tree, and you have a good handle on well balanced tiers. On a completely...

Is there still a hope for redpower2?

This is the best post I've seen on RedPower, and it makes some very good points. RedPower was a fantastic mod, and its influence will echo throughout the mod community even if it never gets another version. It's ok to move on at this point, after a year of no updates and (almost entirely) radio...

FTB Monster mod pack listed - What do you think?

Very happy to see Logistics Pipes and Modular Power Suits added. Those (and Binnie's, but that's due to instability) were the only mods I felt were missing from the preliminary list. Chisel and Heraldry are nice surprises. More aesthetic options are always a good thing, IMO, especially if...

What weird cross-mod combos have you found?

Don't forget to stand in your smeltery for a bit to get some tanks of molten blood too. Hmm, I have a strange urge to play Dwarf Fortress for some reason.

    Opinions on Dartcraft

First off, just a minor personal complaint: I'm not crazy about the mod aesthetically. It's always felt kind of disjointed to me, and looking through the item list causes semantic satiation for "force". The Force Infuser doesn't really work for me as a mechanic, and that's the mainstay of the...

    The FTB City Buildings

-Liquid storage towers. For bonus points, set up portable tanks and use TiC faucets to drain into them. It'll look nice -Large power plants. Use scaffolding, iron tanks, and exposed wiring to make it look industrial -Huge warehouse style storage for excess items, with option production of...

    Weekly News Issue #1

I'm guessing Monster is still in internal testing because of serious bugs. How bad is it? Any clue how many mods still need stabilizing? I appreciate the communication, even if you can't answer those specific questions. Any news is good news. Thanks for your hard work, and enjoy some time with...

    Fun With Archimedes Ships

So this is interesting. Balkon (AS author) is talking with the Bibliocraft author about properly adding rotation support, and working with Carpenter's Blocks methods for it. Hopefully this means 1) standards for block rotation 2) at the very least AS being compatible with Bibliocraft and...

What weird cross-mod combos have you found?

This seems to be pretty widely known by now, but Tinker's Construct's Smeltery Drains can interact with any liquid pipes, as can the casting table and basin. So you can hook up a liquiduct to automate TC even easier than the usual redstone clock on a faucet method. The faucets can also drain to...

Rotarycraft - the mindblower and builds

I really haven't delved too deep into the mod, but from my creative testing, here's what I found out. A DC engine should be able to run a fermenter. It just requires a redstone signal, and I think it can just be hooked directly to it. That will get you started with ethanol crystals, which can...

    Upcoming Mod Packs

They're damned if they do and damned if they don't with releasing modpack info, really. I'm just eagerly looking forward to Monster, and accepting that I may add in a few mods since I'm mostly playing on a small server with a friend. Then again, those mods may wind up being added in (*cough*...

(Update) GregTech is not forcibly turning items into scrap, that was a bug with an old version.

I went ahead and tested it out myself since I wanted to find out the truth. You're right, it is fixed with the latest versions. I've updated the OP to reflect that. We can still fight about GregTech if you want though. :)

(Update) GregTech is not forcibly turning items into scrap, that was a bug with an old version.

I can definitely see calling GregTech a conversion (he has himself), but Tinker's Construct is completely optional and doesn't affect anything unless you're playing with the additional Iguana Tweaks mod. You should still be able to make regular tools, and no recipes should be affected.

(Update) GregTech is not forcibly turning items into scrap, that was a bug with an old version.

That's a separate issue from the GregTech one though. That's just mDiyo taking out the electric modifier, but otherwise leaving IC2 alone. While Greg is a developer on IC2, he's just a bugfixer. "You won't be able to use TConstruct and GregTech together in 1.7 anyway." That's a bit different.

(Update) GregTech is not forcibly turning items into scrap, that was a bug with an old version.

See my second edit. This appears to be an old version bug. Just a reminder, because I'm sure mods will be in here soon, please keep it civil. I'm posting this because it is mod news, although I know it's going to cause some strife, but let's keep personal attacks out of it...

    1.7 mods? DON'T HATE

Honestly, I think having to stick to 1.6 for a while could be good for the modded Minecraft community. If development just goes towards 1.6 mods, packs can last a lot longer without people growing restless about missing out on the latest and greatest. It doesn't seem like many of Vanilla 1.7's...

    Newest Industrial Craft

Although the new changes are inspired by GT, Greg is just on the team as a bug fixer. I'm not crazy about the new direction myself, although I enjoyed playing with GT hardmore in 1.4.7 a few times.
