True... 512MB may not be much but it'll allow a 1.7.10 pack to run comfortably and let the OS do it's thing. I wouldn't attempt to run any 1.10 or newer packs with less than 8GB ram installed, though.

As far as the Graphics question about GPU usage, you can go into your system's BIOS and select the GPR to use... Many "inexpensive" motherboards use Intel's Integrated Graphics, which are just about the worst for gaming... Fine for colorful spreadsheets and Powerpoint presentations, and barely...

Note: If you are on the Twitch launcher you will get an Update indicator on the Badge that represents the pack you're using. Some mods may go through several updates before Dire's pack gets an official FtB update. Dire also sometimes puts updated mods in the pack to test them before okaying...

Was Big Reactors a thing in 1.5.2? I thought it didn't appear until 1.6.x or 1.7.10 at the earliest, and was a carry over of something else but greatly simplified. I never used 1.5.2 myself since I bought Minecraft when 1.6 packs were in pre-release.

If you are using an FtB pack v.1.12.2 you may already have Chicken chunks in the pack... The FtB Utilities chunk loader is bugged and Chicken Chunks was added as a stopgap, at least in the Direwolf20 pack.

Fun Fact: The exact same thing was said about 1.7.x, except there was the added bonus of huge tech changes inside of MC itself that forced an almost total rewrite... Static vs. Dynamic block IDs comes to mind. It was over a year before mods really started to update.

Many of the new FtB packs have a [Mods] button when you first start MC, before selecting single or multiple player. That button opens a list of all the mods in the pack, with [Configure] and [Disable] buttons at the bottom as well as a Search window if you know the pack name. I checked there...

They're probably training Baby Hax to steal MC accounts just like Microsoft hopes to use MC as a tool to get our kids more interested in programming :D

^This. If you have a sword that has half damage and one with no damage then they are not the same item (I don't know if that's stored in Meta or NBT). Also, you will have to specify all of the types of that item... Wooden, Stone, Iron and Diamond swords are all different items to the filter...

IIRC Crash Landing was a 3rd party pack. If I am correct then the pack developer may have removed it, possibly too busy to support it.

One of the new mods includes a world type called "Lost Cities" that is available as a World Creation option. This generates Cities which are infested with mobs. As I understand it there is also a dimension you can create a link to that will take you there from the Overworld. Direwolf20 1.12.2...
