    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

Can't agree more. Unless there were something that undoes the cockup that is modern Minecraft combat, along with certain favourites making the move, I can't see myself going past 1.7.10 anytime soon. There's no compelling vanilla content that'd make me want to move, either; anything 1.8+ has...

Considering how much one needs to run a decent reactor, methinks this is intentional. Lets you go lnger between mining trips, assuming you don't have a way to make uranium renewable on hand.

Aah, mea culpa. Just assumed it was referring to the most recent Greg related comment.

That was me, and that was not what I meant. I meant that Greg sacrifices fun for grind and microcrafting; ain't got shit to do with realism.

True, but I think the amount of fuel that gets converted to waste is fairly small, assuming one cycles it properly. I highly doubt Reika would force users to replenish a rare, hard-to-find resource at all regularly. He ain't Greg.

I think you can cycle the hot fuel like you do sodium for the LMFBR. You've also got to consider that the LFTR is naturally very safe, if not logistically easy to run; were it much more powerful, it'd easily overtake anything outside the tokamak due to said inherent safety and the fact one can...

RoC can be a bit space intensive, but that's just part of the challenge. Do I dedicate an entire room to fast jet fuel production and have to use ender chests/tesseracts, or do I try to cram it in with everything else and transport items and fluids directly?

I Derp, You Derp, We all Derp, What's your's?

And this is why I always get a little bit into ChromatiCraft before doing RoC. Those heat lamps are life-savers in more ways than one.

    [ReactorCraft] ReC Mechanics Thread

Aah, aye. Though, it does at least make sense logically, since you always fill from the bottom first, unless you're filling something with a gas.

    [ReactorCraft] ReC Mechanics Thread

Aye; the only way to explicitly turn off an HTGR is to remove all the fuel from it, first. I don't think the control rods would work on them like they do on the proper fission reactors. If EnderIO isn't working sufficiently (it can be a tad slow, from what I've seen), you might could try...

That also solves the problem, lol.

The wood repeaters always buzz, at least, they do for me. Instead, follow the dotted line you get to help with placement.

There may be exploring you've missed; villages, temples and whatnot in the Overworld, bedrock, getting to hell, going thru a hole in the roof of hell, finding the buildings there, all are needed at some point to progress. I'm not sure if the village one is required, but it can't hurt to have it.

I think that's been there for a while...might could check the datestamps on the files in the JAR when I get time and am not in pain.

Yeaaaaahhh... I think Guild Wars does one for a week or more. Also, again, I'm 99% positive there's a config option for that, something about holidays.

If memory serves, there's a config option for that.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Fallout 3 has references to the Institute, synths, the Commonwealth, and the Railroad.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

True, but that usually requires some kind of machinery. In a completely isolated system, TiCon doesn't have many uses for obsidian that aren't better filled by logistically cheaper materials like alumite.

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Considering I've not moved past 1.7.10, I'm not gonna be a part of this pool. But, if I were to bet, I'd say probably not soon; obsidian is only kind of useful. It takes too long to make/mine any significant amount for processing or building. Unless something massive has changed in TiCon...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Coal blocks have the same hardness (aka, blast resistance) as obsidian while taking less time to mine. Due to how TiCon hammers work, this makes gathering obsidian easier as you can place a coal block such that you can net upwards of 8 obsidian relatively easily.
