    I often see it paired with lucky blocks. (The lucky block is spawned in and the streamer opens/breaks it. What happens next can be a diamond block appears to a wither or ender-dragon spawning.)

    I can't find exactly what I am referencing, but something along the lines of: You really need to be a programmer to realise how after working hard at an existing application, the phrase "It looks just like it used to" is a large accomplishment.

    Which is better solution to getting sounds, language files and block models replaced in game?: Have a mod that edits the minecraft source to change those files. Just be careful to ensure you don't want 2 different mods like that (that provide different stuff) or mods that change the same code...

    Well, in support of 1.7 (specifically 1.7 with Forge) I present: The automatic management of IDs through the Game registry and the use of strings to identify items/blocks. Makes it easier for mod makers so they don't have to have code to manage IDs, worry about if their ID range is conflicting...

    A big change in 1.3 was the proper client-server split so that single-player became just like multi-player (from the operating perspective) and there was no difference between the SSP and SMP clients and servers. (Note: I haven't looked at the code for 1.2, so i am having an educated guess)...

    Question ... Is there a way to explore the deep dark without torches?

    Haven't tried it but maybe installing a dynamic light mod and then run/walk/fly/teleport with a torch in your hand (or on your head).

    I think it is something a mod author needs to fix. The tile entities are not separated by mod name.

    The buff text is caused by your client having a mod called "Status Effect Hud" I think.
