Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

But you can! If you use the Obscurator, you can make it look like anything, as long as anything is a whole block. Shift-right click with it to copy a texture, then normal right-click on hardened CF to paste the texture onto it.

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

Actually it is. Version 2.3.0-Butt was just released. Please don't spread mis-information. Also the link you counted as doubleposting is wrong even if a new update wasn't released when it moved to Curse, as the newest version before was 2.2.5, unlike your link which had 2.2.0.

    Mods that add cfg crafting?

IC2 allows you to add and remove crafting and (IC2) machine recipes.

IC2 Nuclear reactor automation in direwolf20

It does melt stuff, but only non-TEs. Basically in 1.6 there was a bug that it only melted Bedrock and other indestructible blocks (10/10 reverse logic) which when fixed made it melt anything near (including it's own chambers). That was fixed so it should melt any reinforced stone acting as a...

    Is modded Minecraft 1.8 happening?

It's Mojang we're talking about here, they'll take so long people will get bored skipping 1.8 and 1.9 to wait another half a year minimum for Forge to update when the next version is finally released.

How can I disable the Optifine F3 debug profiling?

There was a conflict with Forge if I remember rightly that made this happen where it just ignored the setting and showed it regardless, but that was 1.4.7 and was fixed for 1.5. Which version of Minecraft are you using? Indeed I am.

How can I disable the Optifine F3 debug profiling?

It's not from Optifine, it's simply Optifine makes it easier to show than the normal method which is (or at least used to be) shift-F3. Never had this personally though, so can't help beyond that.

Tech mods: Why have a power system?

You've got Buildcraft, so it might be a little harder than trivial, but certainly still a viable option.

Tech mods: Why have a power system?

Or you could use native RF generation. Power Converters were always the game breaker for having different power systems, as suddenly you can just use one and convert it rather than go into a mod to see how it wants you to generate power. All it takes is to look at MJ where it could be converted...

Tech mods: Why have a power system?

There was no way to store MJ (apart from in engine's internal buffers), and when engines gave out power, although it was measured in MJ/t, that was an average as the MJ was only sent out when the engine reached it's most pushed out state of the animation.

Trying to install a Mod with just new class files

Guessing it's this mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/1275075-1-7-3-stackable-food as it overrides 3 base classes. It was also made for MC Beta 1.7.3, which is maybe why the OP thinks it'll work with 1.7

Tech mods: Why have a power system?

Then you end up with a 2 tier RF system of those mods that implement tiers and max input and those that don't. I wonder which one people would end up using... Even if that did work, which it could if people cooperated, there would always be that mod that would have tier 1, MAX_INT input to...

    New mods dropdown

You could do that with Javascript and cookies, but it does seem a tad unnecessary when you can just have multiple tabs open/favourites/a search bar.

Tech mods: Why have a power system?

Or an IC2 classic machine. Or an IC1 machine. Or an old BC pipe. Not exploding was a new idea in terms of major power systems. What the idea description sounds a lot like is completely overwriting the RF API as soon as Minecraft starts to force every (RF using) machine to work with that mod's...

FTB Infinity 1.7.10 Help, Venting and Discussion Thread

I wouldn't say it is. The sole difference is with IC2 you have tools for making plates and wires until you a get a machine to bypass them, while with Simply Jetpacks you have a lot of normal crafting to do. Just because IC2 uses tools before you can replace them with a machine doesn't make it...

Tech mods: Why have a power system?

The item transporting part sounds a lot like vanilla hoppers, they don't need anything to run but are pretty slow. They can also be wired together in such a way to act as a sorting machine, with the correct redstone as well of course. The only reason I'd see people not using them is that they'd...

Tech mods: Why have a power system?

That is expected though, as you wouldn't have much of a power system if one mod can replicate features from every mod that uses it. It's the fact RF is a power system not a mod on it's own like IC2 or Rotarycraft that is the distinct difference to why it doesn't have the same defined balance...

How do YOU make steel in FtB packs?

I use lots of IC2 Blast Furnaces as they're dirt cheap to run and easy to craft relative to other options (looking at you Railcraft).

"Just". Lex will have other ideas. Like completely opposite ideas.

How do you like mods to be balanced?

Funny how Buildcraft did it like this since 2011, yet it's only now people complain about it when given an easier alternative.
