I have used the mac mini with HD graphics 3000,core i5, and 8 GB ram, and the results aren't spectacular. I struggle to get 30 fps on normal + 64. However, with the i7 and graphics 4000, that should be enough to get you (my rough estimate)about 35 fps or so on far. It won't get you over 60 fps...

It's kinda possible. you can use an apiary and put restraint frames in. They reduce territory at the expense of production and lifespan. Also, you can now put frames in alevaries to further boost the production rate if you want with the new extra bees alevary blocks.

Ever since I've tried playing mindcrack on v8, I've been having all these problems on OSX. I've tried optifine B6, C1, C2 and C3; none seem to work. I even tried updating forge. I guess I'm stuck on Direwolf v4 until this issue is fixed.

If you don't have gregtech, then they give you tin dust, which is a lot better than effectively a quarter tin ingot. Edit: never mind, you get tin dust at a 25% chance, so on average it's just as good as tin dust piles. Also, thaumic bees has some bees (if you look in the aparist database)...

That's extra bees. The molten liquids (diamond, iron, obsidian, ect) are used in a thermionic fabricator recipe for extra bees. What it is, I'm not sure.

This is one of those mods that needs to be configured. Personally, I disabled over half the biomes and only left the ones I really liked. If you enable as many biomes as vanilla ones, in my experience, I have had around a 1:1 ratio.
