I haven't tested throughput myself, but per a comment from another forum (Reddit), the Fluid Laser Relays from Actually Additions are capable of ludicrous levels of liquid transport. Like 2 billion mB/t. Might be worth a look.

    Let's talk about Iron Backpacks

I really like using Iron Backpacks with the Mod-Specific Filter. Having a backpack to pick up all Botania resources, for example, is much more useful than the Flower Pouch that comes with the mod - which picks up flowers, but not flower petals, let alone Livingwood, Living Rock, etc. I'm...

[1.12] Unstable Mod Pack - Mod Spawning Options?

From McJty's notes on The Lost Cities; "Note that there is also a dimension (default ID 111) that you can travel too. This dimension can be disabled (useful if you want this for vanilla clients). But using this dimension you can keep the overworld normal and have The Lost Cities in a dimension...

[1.12] Unstable Mod Pack - Mod Spawning Options?

I'm using the Mob Grinding Utilities in the 1.12 Unstable pack to farm mobs. For spawning, you could use the Spawner Changer from Actually Additions; https://ellpeck.de/actaddmanual/#spawnerChanger I've just re-used the spawners found in the Lost Cities buildings/subways, and moved a bunch...

    Rubber automation

What @Henry Link says. You can also feed rubber tree wood through a Thermal Expansion Sawmill to get planks, and more rubber.

Super Low Lag Octuple Compressed Cobblestone Generator

There are several decent video guides to creating compressed cobblestone using Steve's Factory Manager. The one I've linked below has a detailed view of how each step is set up. But do look at other videos, the Factory Manager has a lot of neat functionality, in a very low-lag block.

Trying a new (to me) mod pack; Departed. Nice mix of mods, and I've taken the advice several posters have offered, and declined to use TiCo, focusing on the AOA gear instead. One issue; the points I accumulate towards AOA levels (Hunter, Foraging, logging, etc.), reset when I shut down the...

For the Extra Utilities Slimey Generator, is there a way to pipe in the milk? I tried a tank pushing milk in from each side of the block, but no dice. I can import slime balls using a vanilla hopper, so I was hoping there was a way to pipe in liquid milk without having to make milk buckets first.

    Tinkers Construct smeltery questions.

Was the nugget cast nerfed? I recall making at least one, just to clear up the remaining bits of molten metals.

    IC2 Fluid Reactor Setup Questions

I may have answered my own question... Reading through another thread on the IC2 Nuclear Engineering forum, I see the recommendation for a similar setup is 13 heat exchangers; 12 with all included copper heat elements, and one with eight, totalling exactly 1280 HUs handled. Looks like I need...

    IC2 Fluid Reactor Setup Questions

I've been setting up an IC2 Fluid/Liquid Reactor on a server running the Direwolf20 1.7.10 (1.10 version, confusingly...) mod pack. Lots of resources are now sitting in a big lumpy object in a moderately safe room way underground, and I'm trying to figure out how to run it safely. I'm using a...

And as a recent convert, if you have Steve's Factory Manager available, the Machine Inventory Manager is the bees knees for a compact compacting solution. Basically you just need one chest/storage device, and this one machine, to compress cobblestone, dirt, and/or gravel.

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Quick question for Botania boffins; I'm trying to automate a Thermalily setup, and have a timer setup to activate a dropper, dropping lava buckets every eight minutes. Are there any blocks in the Direwolf20 pack that can drop a small quantity of lava upon signal, without having to have the lava...

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

I much prefer using EnderIO pipes, for my first reactor build I was trying to replicate other example systems, and I didn't know what was required versus optional in those setups. The external coolant tank sounds like a great idea, as it will also give a visual indicator for coolant levels -...

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

I've been setting up the IC2 Fluid Cooled Reactor primarily using U-Tube videos (1, 2)as a guide, as I haven't had any luck finding a step-by-step document tutorial for the fluid version. Both of these sample setups use a chain of IC2 machines; [Reactor Fluid Port or Hot Coolant Tank] Heat...

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

Just wanted to say that your tip was a lifesaver! I made twenty or so dollies, and moved every machine block without a hitch, some of them multiple times. Also made it easier to reorient the blocks to try and match up the correct surfaces, that part is still a work in progress. (Anyone have a...

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

I'll give that a try this evening. I'm playing on a DW20 server, running the 1.7.10 version, 1.10 build release. The tool looks pricy to make, but now that I'm getting into the world of IC2 reactors, I'm sweating having to move/replace multiple liquid heat transfer units, steam generators...

    Are there any instant-break blocks?

Scaffolding? Both Carpenter's Blocks and IC2 have scaffolding blocks, the wooden ones even despawn after a time, so zero effort to break them. The IC2 scaffolding blocks will break when you break the lowest layer.

Those little things that irk you about Minecraft

Things that irk me? The sheer inability to move most IC2 machines without breaking them. I've made the Electric Wrench, followed instructions to "activate" it in "Safe Mode," and still end up with a pile of basic machine casings instead of the expensive machines. Makes base design a lot...
