    [1.8.9][1.9.4]Terrain Crystals!

Too bad. 1.9 is even less to my taste.

1.8: what is holding you back?

McJty, you do realize that you can have your single library internally, and just have the build process lump it together with any mods using it, yes? It's a little bit of setup to prevent issues with multiple conflicting copies, but not much, and you really only need to do that once. When I...

    [1.8.9][1.9.4]Terrain Crystals!

Are there any equivalents to this for 1.7.10? Neat mod, but 1.8 is not my cup of tea.

Minetweaker and modtweaker. What ways do you use it?

Unification and recipe reversions, mainly. I don't like when mod "updates" change mechanics out from under me.

1.8: what is holding you back?

That's a good point. Huh. After I get settled down again I may try my hand at it.

    Self-Sustaining Closed-Loop Lava Turbine Generator

Don't think of it as timing. Think of it as "if it needs fuel, add it". In particular, something like "if it has full water (meaning: it hasn't turned any water into steam that tick, meaning it's too cold), and no items in it, and it's been at least (say) 2 ticks since an item has been added...

1.8: what is holding you back?

MC 1.8 and 1.9 add performance increases in some areas, but performance decreases in other areas. In particular, stutters due to GC / etc (and even the pauseless GCs have performance decreases while they run - and G1 takes long enough to pause to do new gen collections to often cause a stutter!)...

1.8: what is holding you back?

What is holding me back, personally, is that I don't like vanilla 1.8. And as such, modding it is adding lipstick to a pig. From what I've seen of 1.9, it's even worse for me in that regard. Or rather: it is not that it is worse, period. It's that Minecraft did not go in the direction that I...

What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

Bleh, pastels. ...So is there going to be a resource pack for the old textures? Because, props to you for BC7 and all, but I really don't like the new ones.

    What makes a good multiblock?

Pretty much. Although I prefer when the components don't have to be used together. Where each constituent block at least does something outside of the multiblock. You may say that, to you, it's not then a multiblock. But to me it's the best kind of multiblock.

    What makes a good multiblock?

I'm probably the odd man out here, but I don't particularly like multiblocks. Or rather, I don't like many of the multiblock structures. I like blocks that requires multiple blocks to be used effectively (BC engines, for instance), but not so much the "you must place these blocks in this...

What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

Nope. They twig with me, but I'm not sure why, at least not well enough to explain. I'll have to think on it. So could you make them a separate submodule then? Wonderful. I suppose that explains it then. Not really, as far as I can tell. Just a side effect of a relatively large network (and...

What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

I don't like this answer. I do not see why change is inherently a good thing. I suppose part of it is that I seem to be on the longer side in terms of how long I keep worlds around. (In particular I do not like things that break existing worlds, although robots do not fall into that category.)...

What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

    That's... actually a great idea.

What would YOU change about BuildCraft?

What would I, personally, change? I would get rid of robots. For me, they don't fit with the rest of BC. Ditto with the tossed blocks with fillers/etc. (Or at the very least I would make it so that if you remove the filler after it's stopped tossing blocks it doesn't lose the blocks in the...

Is there an updated AE1-like mod?

Update: It's already been suggested and rejected, hard. Bleh. I'm using logistics pipes currently. But I don't know of any way to craft multiple per block (crafting modules don't work currently).

Is there an updated AE1-like mod?

Two problems with that route. First, you'll need one of everything you autocraft as a buffer. That gets expensive. Secondly, it won't show if you're missing something, or, if you are, what you're missing. But it's a good idea none-the-less. That and a better crafting speed.

Is there an updated AE1-like mod?

As last time I checked I am not you, this is irrelevant to me. See above. I am not talking about the resource costs, I am talking about the processing power issues. Namely that absurd numbers of tile entities lag the game for me, badly. Again: I like the recipe / block autocrafting in...

Is there an updated AE1-like mod?

Yep. One recipe per block. (Actually generally 1 recipe per two blocks - pipe and table.) At which point I may as well stick with LP. Hence me asking if there's anything like AE1's system out there. I figured no-one would do a straight port, which is unfortunate but expected. However, looking...

Is there an updated AE1-like mod?

LP Autocrafting only crafts (i.e. on demand) one item (or occasionally a range of related items (i.e. all wool types)) per block, yes, although there are exceptions. That's part of the reason why I like it. It actually requires thought and space (especially for things that cannot be made in a...
