I like the rocks and crystals.. Not so much the trees. The colors are a bit too... solid I guess, and don't serve any real utility just using vanilla woods. If the different color trees were different breeds with purpose, a la forestry, or new wood colors, sure. Would be cool. Do whatever makes...

Just wanted to add my 2C since this thread isn't that old. I had/have the same problem. Nearly a new mindcrack world. No chunkloaders have been made yet, no thaumcraft, no buildcraft stuff. Literally just an IC generator, compressor and 4 turtles. only 1 of which was active and no session...
