Have you read any of the post at all? he's not discontinuing it, he's finishing up the TE rewrite and then passing it on to someone or a group of someones.

Is this reportable? if it's not it should be.

What's Ender IO missing on the capacitor banks that makes it harder then energy cells?

I've yet to get a MFFS force manipulator system working right, everytime i try I run into a massive bug with them, or a block that they utterly fail at moving but is needed for what i wanted to do. Mark 2 deployer could be used to deploy a sequence or be paired with a bundled cable to deploy a...

Again your glossing over that the pipes are a large part of the mod, and even with the replacement frame mods I don't think they plan to ever have to power them (if someone knows better i'd be pleasantly surprised) not to mention the uses for frames with deployers (especially that mark 2...

Can't I like both? I do admit that I'm thoroughly glad that Project Red exists as well as forge multipart and all of the other mods trying to pick up the slack. That doesn't however mean that I still don't miss other parts of Redpower not to mention Redpower as a whole cohesive element. As for...

You can't really say they are complete replacements and then off handedly say "minus the Bluetricity/machinery stuff". The bluetricity machinery was a large majority of the mod, not to mention you left out tubes.

The Capacitor banks are not only portable but they stack together with adjacent ones. EIO also includes a Tesseract in the form of the Dimensional Transceiver, it uses more energy even for transfering liquids but it also does all both liquid and power at the same time and more later.

    Ender IO water conduits ftw.

My point was there would never be a universal cable if a central api was created. I realize it's possible i'd just rather choose between whichever native cables are available

There would never be a unified BC+TE+IC2 cable, it would be the same individual cables we have now and you get to choose which one you use and it then acts exactly like it does now. the only difference would be the ability to plug in any generator and any machine to that every cable.

I really am trying to see it your way but from my point of view these two sentences are pretty contradictory, you say you specialize in small, low-power setups with i'm assuming varied power generation, and yet you say that you'd end up with one big power generator with all the energy coming...

Neither, to use an analogy i used earlier some mods are using meters and others are using feet but no one knows how many feet are in a meter. It ends up that it's too easy for there to be exploits when converting from one to another. I have no idea where you're getting this from, by definition...

It seems to me that UE is a complicated answer to a simple problem, the only thing you should need is a common unit and the methods to add and remove energy from a network. Let the mods decide how that energy is transferred, how it propagates, how it is stored, etc.

True but that's not really what's happening in minecraft is it, it's more like trying to unplug something from one side of the room and plug it in on the other and having it not work. It's a baseball term that pretty much means you did a damn fine job. I can easily see how that might be the...

Do you really consider buildcraft energy as not being similar to real world electricity? it's called a minecraft joule even. On top of that you say that electricity doesn't have a place in minecraft and then you say that blutricity was pretty cool. If i remember correctly Eloraam modeled...

Not a single one of those analogies are even close to apt, while there are some places that use differing Voltages, -everywhere- uses the same good old AC current, if I take my toaster from my house and head to alaska, my toaster will most definitely still work just fine there. Why is it that...

The only reason that there are exploits like this between factorization and other mods is that there is no central power. Obviously with every mod making up their own balance of power, intra mod conversions are going to cause issues. Now i'm not saying it would be a simple thing for the modders...

All of the reasons you mentioned for different power systems are the same reasons i want a combined power ability, I want to use whatever power generation I feel like at the time to run whatever I'm trying to use at the time. If that means building a boiler to run a mass fab or an IC2 nuke to...

If it's so easy to convert to MJ can't you make it so if there's a buildcraft machine connected to a conduit it would give it MJ? I'd be fine with that so long as the power generation in TE is up to par. More options are always better. With TE having it's own power system I'm actually more...
