Well, after being a little bit cheatsy I used the goggles to look at the aura node above the obsidian monument. It's definitely unstable, it looks like a vortex with lightning spewing from it. Plus the flux section stated it was "Moderate". Fortunately when I recreate the world it generates...

I covered it in cobble but it still spawns Wisps. Will destroying it really do anything? If that's where the unstable node is then surely flux will still be in the aura?

From what I've seen the mounds tend to stick out the ground and are quite noticeable. There is one of those obsidian structures with vines over it where wisps tend to spawn, could that be the source of the flux? I was probably 100 blocks away or so from the monument when the lightning hit me.

Is there no way to balance out the source and level out the aura?

I was standing around for 5 seconds or so in my singleplayer survival world when I was spontaneously hit by lightning, despite the weather being clear. I did a quick Google search which suggested it was caused by Flux from Thaumcraft, but I haven't touched anything from the Thaumcraft mod pack...

I did indeed, it looked quite nice and had one of the Thaumcraft villagers to. There was one of those obsidian monuments with a chest nearby to, though I'm not quite sure what those are as I'm fairly new to the DW20 pack. I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

Thanks for the seed Lambert. I had a little look around and the 2nd island nearby looks quite good. It feels a little large but still good, especially as some of the landmasses go above Y: 100. I like to dive in to my bases.

I love playing on island seeds, though most of them are usually fairly plain islands with a tree and some grass. I was hoping for something like the seed Artomix but I think that only works in default Minecraft due to ExtrabiomesXL, which is a bit disappointing. Does anyone have any good seeds...

I updated Java and was able to load a world, though it took a little while. Even after that though the frame rate becomes very choppy quite quickly then crashes, giving me the "Shutting down the internal server" message but never actually doing anything until I close it through the task manager...

I installed the DW20 pack today, but when I try to generate a world it freezes up and tells me it's shutting down the internal server. I tried to check my crash report but it is completely blank. I did see a thread which said to run the pack as administrator, but I've no idea how to do that and...

It opened with Notepad, so I don't know if it's actually changed anything but I just went crazy on a bunch of trees and didn't crash. Graphics are back on fancy to. Thanks for the help!
