    Actually, both Thaumcraft and Blood Magic have portable, fast flight options. I'll let you figure out BM on your own (evil grin), but you can magically enchant your (harness or girdle, not sure which one) with haste to increase the horizontal speed.

    Have you tried slabs on the top half for the 2nd block? Doesn't count as full, but won't let mobs spawn. If not slabs, take a saw and cut one in half, maybe that will do it.

    Make it 1 tall and have no 2x2 open areas. 1 tall so no mobs other than spiders, and no 2x2s so none of them either.

    Shouldn't need to be filtered, items have to be around for a bit before hopperhocks will notice them, and all the drops should just go straight into the apothecary's internal inventory anyways.

    Now you just need a golem to fill it up with water and a redstone signal telling him when you want to make a flower and they're 100% automated.

    IIRC, the placer can't break their own blocks (not glass, as that's been changed to be its own separate block with its own recipe) if warded unless they un-ward them first. Also, the mana lens would have no interaction to tell if it could move them, even if the placer was the one to use the mana...

    This will also be fixed in the 0.8 update, I believe by default from Ender Zoo. If it is by default, then you could just update Ender Zoo and that would fix the howling problem.

    Can confirm that the wither cannot destroy warded glass/blocks and will go after TC golems if they're the nearest entity. Also, Botania's Bellethorne. Extremely cheap and will kill the wither one half heart at a time. :D

    I've actually tried automating wither spawning with a Rannuncarpus before and became extremely frustrated. You need to have 3 of them, to start. One set on a block A that places the bottom middle soul sand. Then, disable that one and drop 1 soul sand for one sat on a piece of soul sand. Disable...
