Automatize MFR Planter-Harvester

I'm trying to make an automatic planter-harvester system. With wheat everything's good, but I have no idea how can I use carrots. I'd like the harvester to bring one piece to the planter, and the other to my chest. How can I achieve this?

I personally just rely on the planter getting full sooner or later (you can always fill 8 squares out of 9 with cobblestone so you only keep 1 stack).

Then the overflow pops to a chest.
